She’s a washed up politician with no future in the Republican Party, just like all the other “Republicans” who have endorsed Harris. None are in office. As a Democrat, I will happily welcome Cheney and Kinzinger and anyone else who wants to support reasonable policies and non-criminal candidates. Even better if they pull the Democrat party slightly back toward center to get a consensus moderate wing going. I may not ever vote for her as a candidate, as I disagree with her policies, but I'd encourage the D party to lean a little more toward center to encompass all of these not-crazy-MAGA "RINOs". Even if we lose a few far-lefties in the process, a more centrist party would be just fine.

You’ve got the order wrong. Cheney didn’t become a “washed up” politician and then take on Trump to become relevant; she was one of the most powerful House Republicans until she condemned Trump’s attempted coup. That ended her political career because the cult members turned on her. She has nothing personal to gain from endorsing Harris. She’s now persona non grata to Republicans and she’s not electable as a Democrat, nor does she want to be a Democrat. She disagrees with Harris on policy, but recognizes the threat that Trump poses. There’s no other circumstance that would cause her to endorse Harris.

You’ve got the order wrong. Agree with this. I would add that I am seeing more articles about gop discussion re getting beyond Trump. Who knows. But Cheney is young enough to be playing to lead a resurrected post-trump gop. She’ll need an existing democracy for that plan to take her to potus. And as a Cheney she is a well trained politician.
