In the amount of time it took you to write that you could have googled, as every major news outlet has reported this... https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2024-election/liz-cheney-endorses-kamala-harris-president-rcna169654 Liz Cheney endorses Harris for president It's the latest high-profile Republican endorsement for Vice President Kamala Harris' presidential bid. |
| I love that she specifically said swing states voters don't have the luxury of not voting or writing in random names if they care about the country. |
| Wow. That’s how much of a threat Donald Trump is to America; Liz Cheney is endorsing Kamala Harris. Four years ago, this was unthinkable. |
DP. The PP is correct. It is understood that when an OP starts a thread, THEY have the responsibility to provide a link instead of just assuming everyone will know what they're talking about. It's asinine when OPs do that. Provide the link. |
This. |
She’s a washed up politician with no future in the Republican Party, just like all the other “Republicans” who have endorsed Harris. None are in office. Republican voters have solidly rejected Cheney. Her only future is as a commentator on a liberal media channel as their pet “Republican”, just like Kinzinger. She is doing this out of her own self-interest and to try to stay relevant. Anyway, Cheney and her warmongering are far more dangerous than Trump is. |
That's your opinion. Not a fact. But if you prefer felon, insurrectionist, tax evading, draft dodging sexual predators, that says a lot about your value system. |
They hate what they imagine liberals to be more than they love our country. |
Because the GOP is going to be destroyed by Trump. Rep. Cheney has a future in US politics. |
As a Democrat, I will happily welcome Cheney and Kinzinger and anyone else who wants to support reasonable policies and non-criminal candidates. Even better if they pull the Democrat party slightly back toward center to get a consensus moderate wing going. I may not ever vote for her as a candidate, as I disagree with her policies, but I'd encourage the D party to lean a little more toward center to encompass all of these not-crazy-MAGA "RINOs". Even if we lose a few far-lefties in the process, a more centrist party would be just fine. |
You’ve got the order wrong. Cheney didn’t become a “washed up” politician and then take on Trump to become relevant; she was one of the most powerful House Republicans until she condemned Trump’s attempted coup. That ended her political career because the cult members turned on her. She has nothing personal to gain from endorsing Harris. She’s now persona non grata to Republicans and she’s not electable as a Democrat, nor does she want to be a Democrat. She disagrees with Harris on policy, but recognizes the threat that Trump poses. There’s no other circumstance that would cause her to endorse Harris. |
Agree with this. I would add that I am seeing more articles about gop discussion re getting beyond Trump. Who knows. But Cheney is young enough to be playing to lead a resurrected post-trump gop. She’ll need an existing democracy for that plan to take her to potus. And as a Cheney she is a well trained politician. |
| I don’t think anyone thinks of her as a Republican. |
No one needed to watch a single second of the hearings to know Trump supporters are traitorous trash who tried to kill MoC for a corrupt, rapist, sore loser who has gone through his disgusting life never accepting the word “No.” Stop trying to convince people we didn’t all see what we did on 1/6/21. A bunch of TERRORIST flying monkeys in service to their orange pos terrorist leader. |
Um hello, a proxy war with Russia via Ukraine. |
