Traffic Ticket Fairfax County

This. You were lucky you didn't get a reckless driving citation

Driving on the shoulder is a One Point Violation in Maryland. It is only 3 points in Maryland if an emergency vehicle is blocked by you driving on shoulder. VA hit me with 3 points automatic for being on shoulder even though I was blocking no one and actually trying to get on highway. They ticketed me points wise very high.

Three points is crazy. In VA you have concept of safe points up to five for each year you drive safe. If I was a Virginia driver I would get hit with zero points for this violation as I would of had five positive points saved up. If in Maryland with no positive point system I would have got one point.

Because I had a Maryland Plate in VA I got hit with triple points, if I was in Maryland same ticket it be one point and if I was a VA resident I would have got zero points as I would of had five safe points.

My friend got a similar BS ticket in Delaware. Not coming to a complete stop on red when making a right on red on an empty street. For out of state residents that plead guilty it is no points as long as you don't get another ticket within 12 months. She paid and drove safe the rest of her time in Delaware. Why if she got a second ticket they bring back first ticket and you get six points!!!

Yes.

Boo!

So you couldn't zipper in earlier like everybody else? Boo!

The only motorists I dislike more are those motorcyclists who drive in-between lanes in bumper-to-bumper traffic.

was not zippering, I was getting off to do backroads when last minute off ramp packed and Waze redirected to stay on highway. Had the spinning thing where Waze has no clue and it said go straight by then I was out of runway.

That's just you being childish. Lane splitting in traffic reduces traffic and it is much safer. Bumper to bumper traffic and people ignore and run over bikes as they are concentrating on posting that perfect insta complaint.

States rights. Now you know. Stay out of Virginia. We don't want you.

What a load of bullshit.
Try taking responsibility for BREAKING THE LAW, like an adult.
You don't like Virginia's traffic laws? Stay in Maryland.

You really seem to be struggling with the concept of personal responsibility. You deliberately chose to drive on the shoulder of the road. If I was that cop, I would have given you a reckless driving ticket.

Wait. Did you really try to justify that its ok and safe for some motorcyclists to drive in between lanes in bumper to bumper traffic? Please tell me you're trolling because that's real dumb. Real motorcyclists will not do this.

Do just a bit of research before spouting off. While it is a subject of debate, it is clear that it has multiple benefits. And when you say bumper to bumper traffic, I am assuming you mean the tyepe of bumper to bumper we have in this area. Moving very slowly.

I am not saying I did not do it. BTW I read criteria for Reckless Driving in VA and this is nowhere near it.

My problem is why are they assigning more points for out of state drivers. And in Maryland and DC we don't assign Virginia Drivers more points. In fact VA drivers with a safe record with 5 positive points could get pulled over 5 times in MD for driving on the shoulder at 1 point each and have zero impact points wise.

A MD driver in VA one ticket is three points and with no positive points it results in massive insurance hikes.

But since VA so tough it forces MD and DC drivers to hire lawyers to fight it. We can only hire VA lawyers connected to courts as otherwise you wont win.

Kinda Boss Hogg and Sheriff Rosco P. Coltrane approach to pulling over out of state drivers. They should just put a traffic cam in and nail people with tickets so no points and they catch 100 percent of people and no wasted court time.

These are not backroads. They are our neighborhood streets that are clogged with reckless MD drivers every day. Stay on the highway since you’re not going to those neighborhoods or areas. If you hadn’t blindky followed Waze

You wouldn’t be in this predicament.

No one is assigning "more points" to out of state drivers. Maryland doesn't give you credit for a clean driving record. VA is not "so tough"--just follow the rules like everyone else. You endangered everyone else on the highway with you with your moronic choices. You deserved a reckless driving ticket.

So your problem is with MAryland. Virginia doesn't check your record. Doesn't care of Maryland gives safety points or not. Take it up with Maryland if you are that upset. States rights and all.
