I was looking forward to watching Quincy Wilson but there seems to be some mystery around when/if he runs.

Why would he run?

Why would he run?

On the relay in the qualifying rounds. He is eligible as he was in the top 6 at the trials. Another DCUM type who doesn’t know sports.

Last time I checked a relay race had 4 people

Went to MCPS - I saw her at track meets when she was in high school.

Yes but in the qualifying rounds of relays, some teams with deep benches will have alternates run as long as the teams advancing is not in question. Gives the top 4 time to compete in their individual events, and then recover before the relay finals.

Lyles annoys me so much but his experience won that race. Thompson is no Bolt but the upcoming Jamaicans look good…they are in a rebuilding phase in the sprints, both men and women, it 2028 will be interesting.
Lyles should win the 200, this is really his race, we’ll see if he gets the double.

After the semi-finals run, I knew Alfred would beat Sha’Carri, she has been a fantastic year and has gotten better with every sprint; you could tell she was ready for the moment while Sha’Carri seemed to still have Olympics jitters. Sha’Carri did a great job getting herself to the Olympics, after being DQ’d for Tokyo, not the result she wanted but getting the silver in her first Olympic is excellent.

Op here
Although I am thrilled for Lyles, I kind of felt bad for Thompson, how would it feel to have your name and another athlete’s name showing exact same time( leaving the micro mini seconds out) that would hurt even though it was the truth.

Wait what? One, even people who love track would not know this nuance about selecting the team does Olympic relays for the 400, and of you are contemptuous of the people on this site why bother being here?

bah gawd! That men's 1500 was epic. Incredible tactical race by Hocker to storm home from the inside as Ingebritsen moved over to box out Josh Kerr and ended up giving him some room in the process. Thrilled for Nuguse too with the bronze, and Hobbs Kessler in 5th. I was just happy for *someone* to beat Ingebritsen. But to have Team USA do it, and to go 1-3-5 in the race overall, is amazing.

Awesome racing in the women's 200 too, by Gabby Thomas and Brittany Brown. And a silver for Annette Echikunwoke in the hammer throw, and gold for Valarie Allman in the discus. USATF is tearing it up, and we still have Syd McLaughlin-Levrone and Lyles yet to run their best races and most of the relays still on deck. More medals incoming!

Wut he’s from Florida

Born in Florida, went to high school in Alexandria.

He went to Alexandria City HS. A kid from Woodson broke one of his records this year at the districts meet and it was cool. He is an amazing athlete.

I am also looking forward to Gabby Thomas

Wait, where did she go to college? I'm not sure if they mentioned it.

Agreed, 9:43. Incredible races, especially that 1500! I LOVE Nuguse, and am so happy for his bronze!
