I once dressed in formal evening gown to attend an opera at the Met in New York. I splurged on a box seat all by myself. I had just had a broken engagement and this made me feel absolutely wonderful and I knew that I would be fine land on my feet! |
And you get better service because the bartender is right in front of you. Usually. |
I don't want to though. I want to sit at a table. |
Who said anything about a man |

I do a lot of work travel so yes.
I prefer to get take-out and get all my clothes off and eat in bed back at the hotel, but if I am hungry enough or in a mood where I don't mind interacting, I'll go to the bar/restaurant to people-watch. I always have my work laptop out so I don't tend to get approached, only eyeballed. |
| Many times. You are not ground breaking. |
If I'm eating by myself with a book, I don't need much attention. Plus, I'm not shy - I'll ask a busboy if they could get me another napkin or more water, or ask my waiter to bring my check, etc. |
| Yes, whenever I travel. I always sit at the bar. |
| Love to eat at restaurants by myself. I always sit at the bar but I’m a drinker so it works. Sometimes I read or else I’ll just people watch. |
Good for you PP!!! I celebrated the end of my divorce trial by having lunch solo where I ordered a huge rare steak which was so satisfying to cut up with that huge knife. lol The waiter threw in complimentary champagne and desert that said congratulations. Great lunch!!! |
Sure. Often. I always have. I find it enjoyable. |
Me again. By choice! |
DP. I don’t take a book I enjoy the environment or my meal. I also don’t eat at the bar, unless I want to. |
What are you processing on here as if you are in a therapy session? |
| Yes, always bring a book. |
