No, that's not okay. Not the age gap alone (though that gives me major creep vibes), but everything else you wrote--his multiple divorces, your sheltered upbringing, your lack of friends.

Find something worthwhile to fill your time. Maybe a job that pays trash but is fun since you don't need the money. Maybe volunteer work. Maybe a hobby with classes that gets you out meeting people with similar interests. Adopt a pet, join a meet up group, buy a kayak and explore rivers nearby. Figure out who you are before you find an old guy.

OP, you should go live and experience the world. Make more friends. Find a fun job where you interact with people your age—date young, hot guys who don't have baggage. Your twenties should be the best decade of your life.

When you're 40, he will be 69. That is freaking ancient! It's hard when you're 28 to imagine your 40-year-old self, but look at celebrities about that age, like Jessica Alba (43), Sienna Miller (42), and Beyonce (42). Can you imagine any of them with a 70-year-old + man? No, because that is absurd!

Interesting. After my divorce I was early to mid 40s and I dated several women in their late 20s and early 30s. We got along very well. In fact, I had more in common with them than most 40 year old women. I does help that I keep myself fit and have a successful career. I'm not oblivious to those advantages. But, nothing wrong with dating a woman 10-15 years younger. It really depends on maturity level and commonality.
