Only people who were never in Greek life. Anyone in social settings who says frat I immediately know something about them.

Geeds do.

Yikes!

One specific member “had their arms duct taped to a wooden cross, whereafter, they were force-fed a mixture of cottage cheese and hot sauce and had hot sauce placed on their body, including their genitals,” according to the report.

Look where that is getting the victims. Obviously, these kids can't figure it out for themselves until someone is seriously harmed.

Lol. Not worse than using the word frat. It speaks – trying to talk about something you have no idea about.

Something like this happened at Michigan.

Wish people would identify schools more readily so parents have info.

Haha! And I also immediately know something about anyone who takes offensive at this completely innocuous abbreviation.

And, I immediately know something about anyone that makes an issue out of using the word "frat" in a social setting.

You're an adult now, right? Act like one.

Did you read the article? What they did was terrible and inhumane.

And they have been punished for it. Not all Fraternities are bad but you losers constantly post this crap to bolster your argument that they are. It's tiresome.

Greek system is known for behaving like this. Not all, but there are routinely major incidents at multiple schools yearly that Make the news. Most likely there are tons more doing this that simply don't get caught. This isn't new. It has been going on for decades. The greek system (and sports) are the only groups that are massively known for this.

Sorry you didn't get a bid.

Had no desire to "go greek". When I was in college, they rushed during new student week. So 2 days after kids arrived on campus, before kids have any change of actually using their social skills to make their own friends. I prefer to make my own friends on my own terms. I don't need to dress up, see if people like me from a 5 min talk, and then act like whichever group selects me for next round is my favorite place.

But sure, if you are okay with 18-22 yo torturing and hazing others, go for it. I'd prefer my kids not kill other kids.

It’s clear that your child is in GR systrm… But would you be OK if your child did this to someone else? Or if someone else did this to your child? I don’t think anyone is criticizing your child or your child’s choices but rather the choices of the kids who behaved like this. People are going to completely disregard what you say if you essentially are supporting behavior like this.

the reason why they got such a harsh punishment is because they refused to cooperate with the investigation.

The poster you're responding to leaves that comment on every thread critical of the Greek system, often followed by "geed" for added flair. My guess is it's either a college freshman or someone who peaked as a college freshman. Best not to engage them.
