Started a weight loss journey today

Why plan healthy snacks? Just eat meals and nothing in between.
Get used to the feeling of an empty stomach and recognize that is not " hunger."

Does all of that sound reasonable?

No.

A 9lb loss is not a “weight loss journey.”

Generally I would agree with you. But as someone who has never been able to lose even a few pounds easily, I believe there are some of us who would consider 9# a journey. I lost 20 pounds a few years ago but then stalled and maintained for a year and a half. I somehow gained 5 back. Despite my efforts over the past few months, I have been unable to lose a single pound. I don't know if OP fits this category of people who have great difficulty losing weight, but I'm ok with understanding that even a small amount is a big effort and process (aka journey) for many people.

FWIW, 10# is actually a significant amount of weight. An amount I would be thrilled with right now.

For some people, maintaining steady glucose levels throughout the day is important. Snacks are a key player in that effort.

See a pro to make sure that's the case as opposed to skimpy or flash in the pan meals. Have them tell you what snack if any and when.

Most people I know going on about their "metabolic snacks " are full of it.

FWIW, I found changing my snacks was most effective. No more crackers, pretzels, chips - instead carrots, cucumber, bell pepper, frozen banana slices, berries, stone fruits, popcorn, etc.

And if one is diabetic these are not necessarily great snacks,

Maybe it's not your journey, but it's the beginning of OPs journey. It's pretty daunting to try to lost 30 pounds or something, but starting with 9 and then deciding if your next goal is to keep losing or to maintain feels a lot more doable!

Extremely unlikely. People have just developed a snacking habit that’s completely unnecessary, and they are unwilling to give it up.

I don't have a clue what "metabolic snacks" are. I'm just talking about some cheese and nuts and/or fruit mid-late afternoon.

Well, tell that to my diabetes nutritionist.

Are you even following the thread? The original post directed to the OP was this, which is absolutely correct:

Why plan healthy snacks? Just eat meals and nothing in between.
Get used to the feeling of an empty stomach and recognize that is not " hunger."

People want to lose weight and still hold on to snacks like they are in kindergarten. I seriously doubt OP has a blood sugar regulation problem. That’s BS. People mindlessly snack all the time-most people have absolutely no metabolic need for the snacks.
