Plus, do you only care about wins and losses? if not, what is important to you? Are you asking for U13s? u14s? or both? or current U13s and who will be U14s in the Fall. You also have to understand that coaches change. Rosters change. Abilities change. So the results from last year won't necessarily reflect what the results will be next year. And by moving to the area...it's a big area. If you are moving to Manassas, you don't want to be driving to Bethesda or Columbia, MD...or vice versa. Are looking mostly MLS Next or is ECNL teams OK? Lots to unpack here.

I’m asking about the entire area DC/MD/VA because we haven’t decided on the precise location yet (and soccer will factor into that). I don’t believe in a strict distinction between results and development, in my experience they are strongly related by that age. I suppose MLSNext is a stronger league so that is what I am looking for.

Go to SYC then. You’ll fit right in with that viewpoint.

Let me guess you are American born without soccer background. Welcome to DC. Big clubs like people like you . good luck. The next step Jimmy from the Ipswich academy will play for free for D1 and your kids will take a loan and warm the bench.

You're relocating and have no clue to whether it's DC, MD or VA?

Curious why some think Alexandria mlsn better than syc mlsn at u13 and U14. Coaching? Style of play? Kids development?

I'm the one that posted about those Alexandria age groups being strong. It wasn't really meant to be relative to other programs as a whole, or even the specific teams. Just stating that that particular coach and those groups of players are quality. Evidently that offends someone.

Style of play. SYC (unfairly or not) has a reputation for relying too much on physicality to win. They win by stealing the ball because they can not play possession. They will just outrun and outmuscle everyone (they are on average bigger than any team in their age groups). They’ve got some great individual players who can dribble and score though. I don’t think that style of play is good for overall development especially at U13 or u14 but I’m sure many will disagree too.

Alexandria is losing players for next year. If Virginia, go SYC. If Maryland, go Bethesda.

I think there’s at least 1 going to DC United on the current u13 team.

I think most MLSNext/ECNL teams usually have 1 or couple players go to DCU so that doesn’t seem unusual.

So you're calling a player getting a promotion to a professional academy a negative thing on Alexandria?

Why is ASA losing players?

Yeah, no. ASA does not invest in coaching.
