It would be the end of democracy as we know it. This isn't being hyperbolic - Trump is telling us - daily - what he will do. |
Salvation. |
Are you able to elaborate on that? |
I can only guess what his policies and programs would look like. But I don't have to guess what kind of tone he would set as president and tone, in my mind, is often as important as policy. His second term would continue and deepen the tone set in his first term with an emphasis on:
*revenge and retribution *white grievance *continued targeting and "othering" of out-groups [undocumented migrants, gay/trans people, "libs," minorities (unless they're Republicans), urban dwellers etc.] *transactional dealings with local and state officials and foreign governments *increasing the power of the executive branch *weakening norms long observed in federal government regarding independence of the Dept. of Justice, the Attorney General, and US Attorneys *attempting to deploy the US military and national guard as an instrument of domestic control *extreme performative patriotism *lots of doom-and-gloom talk about the poor state of the country and positioning of himself as its only savior (America is broken and only I can fix it) *increasing coarsening of language, decreasing observance of social norms, diminished social filter (continuing to say the quiet part out loud) *transforming himself and his proxy--the federal government--into a bully both domestically and abroad |
You are projecting. All of you leftist democraps are insane. You are literal fascists. People just want to be left alone and not get raped by taxes to fund your luxury beliefs and wars. |
It would look great. Everybody he nominates will be straight out of central casting. Believe me. |
So none of this rings true to you, PP? When you listen to Trump you don’t hear any of this? He’s all sunshine and sweetness and light when he talks? |
He’s not going to do anything. The people he will bring with him will replace you degenerate leftists in every level of federal government. There will be a reckoning. |
You may be in a cult. |
I'm confused. You say "He's not going to do anything" but also that he "will replace you degenerate leftists one very level of federal government"? So he IS going to do something. "There will be a reckoning" tracks with Trump saying to his supporters that "I am your retribution." Sounds like you want a federal government that is loyal only to Trump, not the constitution. While top positions in government usually change when there's a new president, particularly one of a different party, no US president has required a loyalty pledge to himself--that's usually something you see in fascist governments like Mussolini's in Italy. |
Who is we in these sentences? Because Rumpus had the chance to do all that in 2016-2020and did not. Fact. |
A reckoning of what exactly? Please provide examples off what we leftihanders are to expect. |
The good news is that we don’t have to wait too long to find out. What will it be like? I would say a lot like 2017 to 2021 except I’d expect he would have a more unified Republican Party behind him. No more Mitt Romney, John McCain, etc. trashing him at every opportunity. |
Like last time. Better economy and border control. Excellent scotus picks. |
