School wrongly accused my child

Anonymous
Now, thinking back, there are two reasons they couldn’t provide clear answers. They keep telling you go to Schoology or come to the after class because they are perhaps:

1/Over burdened.
2/ Expect me to bring them some kind of thank you gifts.

I have been in contact with School about lack of support on their part in response to my multiple emails requesting help. I told them that I intend to contact the county and mass media. This is of course, our desperation to get School ‘adequate’ attention (as they were simply footballing my child around ) and I really meant it and I still mean it. After all me and my husband pay a lot of taxes to support the school.

It is right after I complained, the school in rush, pulled my son in and accused him. he right away, pointed out that it’s a different child with the same first name who should be accused. I believe that was the schools way to shut me down, but instead it escalated even more. They didn’t even get their basic facts straight… digital footprint is usually associated with full names so all they had to do is to check which Larla did that…

Very tough times.

You mention digital footprint. If something your child sent to someone or received from someone, don’t you have have the emails or whatever it is on your side? Could you not just print that out and present?

You say “which Larla.” Is that supposed to be your son or is there also a girl involved that you could get help from?

The school was so rushed [to retaliate] that they forgot to look at footprint properly. They had it all. But it had to be my child to defend himself. - I used Larla but it should be Lars I guess in the illustration above.

Wouldn't meeting after class add to their workload if they are overburdened?

I don't understand the thank you gift reference.

How old is this student?

My DC threatened to kill himself after being wrongly accused of something (not as bad), and, in retrospect, I wish I would have done just that. If you are going to accuse a student of doing something that would draw the attention of local law enforcement, you better damn well make sure you have the right student.

OP here - I am so sorry to hear this about your son. How did he recover?

I am raising hell, because the more I dig deeper the more appalled I am about the incompetence. It’s is jaw-dropping.

Yes - those after hours did not work! He forgets to go or something comes out and teacher is not there… but they keep saying like parrots — I am available after hours. Well, that wasn’t helpful for my son…

As for the gift, I mean - it really crossed my mind. Why are they making it SO difficult to access homework assignment? Is it because they want a bribe?

I know I am overthinking it. The answer is - overburdened.

Your conspiracy theory tends to make me wonder about your other claims.

So the accusation part of this is resolved and clear to school your kid did nothing wrong? If so, doesn’t that strengthen your case?

Oh - I see what you mean.
On my part, I meant overburdened to find time for tracking down missing assignments and attaching. Or negligent? I don’t have an answer.

I had to go back with screenshots and informed I followed your instructions but see there is no assignment attached on that page! Or see, that other page states it’s a paper assignment… so 40 minutes later, my son achieved zero.

Multiple this scenario by three teachers. And then school councilor telling you, well your son was way too late, so those assignments are actually locked! Well, then my question is,
Why did you not mark it in the system as locked??? And why did you not provide me with specific links to those that can still be accessed? And what about the paper ones that my son lost???

* Multiplу this scenario by three teachers.

Correction, one of the teachers promised to work with my son and then that day was a volleyball day so she didn’t work with my son and never followed back up with me so I was left with that one…

When thinks don’t make sense, I try to find explanations. Yes, I was told by other moms, I bring chocolate to every teacher and gift cards and that’s the investment that works.

One claim — school is unable to provide hw access to me in a timely fashion and it should not be so hard to chase down hw.
