Went to music festival on MDW and saw more Palestinian flags than US flags

I love how Israelis believe that ending the slaughter of tens of thousands is just a trendy cause. You guys are disgusting.

The consistent slaughter of Jewish people is ok then?

+1. Good for the kids. I'm amazed at how much more well informed this generation is than we were.
Proud of the kids for standing up for human rights - even if their parents are disgusted that they can believe in the freedom from oppression for **gulp** brown people. The horror.

I mean, "well informed"?

Let's not get carried away.

These are the same kids to celebrated OBL's letter (without knowing what it was).

Oh yeah, and 1 in 5 of them think that AOC was responsible for the New Deal.

The worst video I saw was when a guy went to college campuses and asked white college kids about voter ID. Apparently it’s racist, confusing for black folks to get and ID and of course how some in the inner city weren’t capable of getting and ID

Then the same guy went to Harlem and asked all these random black folks is they had an ID and if twas difficult to get one. Much to the surprise of white college liberals - but not anyone else - the local residents of Harlem and Brooklyn were perfectly capable of getting an ID and saw no problems with having to use it to vote. In fact when asked if getting ID was hard or if they were confused they looked at the interviewer like he was an idiot.

So yeah that’s who we’re dealing with

Of course it is. Ask the people of Darfur if anyone thinks about them today.

The US is only funding the killing of one people. So, let's begin there, shall we?

If you think that’s bad, you should have seen the number of Israeli flags and Star of David lapel pins I saw at the last GOP convention.

You’re missing the point. In a year from now nobody is going to wear watermelon earrings or keffiyeh. It’s a trend. They care on a superficial level. When the next movement comes into play all of these accessories will end up at goodwill.

I expect political rallies to be.....political.

A music festival on MDW with no connection to the Middle East? Bizarre to make your "festival wear" and identity as a walking billboard for Palestine (or Israel for that matter).

I am guessing this was not a Country music festival.

No. Then you’d see treasonous confederate flags.

You’ve never been to one. I always see American flags…all over the place. If that offends joy maybe you’re in the wrong country?

“ Rissi Palmer: [00:00:00] Sometimes I would be the only Black person in the venue besides people that were working there. And, you know, I have played to all-white audiences before. I have played having to sing in front of a confederate flag waving right in front of me. I was refused once to walk on a stage that literally had my name on the banner that was hanging above a security guard, didn’t want to let me onstage because he was just like, ‘What are you doing here?’ And I was like, ‘I’m Rissi Palmer. They’re playing my song. I need to go out on the stage.’ The promoter had to come and have them let me on stage. So, just, you know, I have tons of stories like that. So, it was just, like, again, balancing what you love with balancing being true to who you are. ”

No, I think you are missing the point you couldn't even bother to address. My Jewish much younger half sister wears a keffiyeh. She's been to marches and written her senators and has consistently posted news articles online. Yet, you'd write her off as "being fashionable" because she likes to dance at concerts. We ignore youth at our own peril. My fellow Dems I'm giving you a side eye if you haven't noticed.

Israeli people aren’t “brown” people? Quite a number of them are. They are pretty diverse and don’t execute or lock up people who look different.

I guess these kids are ok with the way Palestinians execute gays and are racist? Or they had slavery until the 1930s?

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slavery_in_Palestine

As opposed to Israel killing 15,000 children? Now if the only thing that matters is treatment of gays Israel is not a friendly place. Israel is a religious fundamentalist country and those in government by their own words want to kill gays.

Did you see that the Gaza Health Ministry decreased dramatically the number of children killed or are you only following this story some times? They dialed their numbers WAY back. It was shocking actually. Got very little coverage of course. Children have still been killed, which is a brutal and awful tragedy, but they had clearly been throwing out random numbers the whole time that everyone is gobbling up. Does make one pause.

Except it is actually Palestinians that are being slaughtered by Israel.
We have approximately 800,000 museums, memorials, movies, and other commemorative references to Holocaust. But heaven forbid we acknowledge when a living group of people are experiencing ethnic cleansing. WE still have to focus only on 1936.
But it's "never again", right?

This x100000. Get Israel out of our politics.
If you want to waive your Israeli flag at a music festival, be my guest. But Israeli lobbying money in Congress should have everyone up in arms.

Let me know if she’s still writing letters this time next year.
