That does suck, but please tell me (I"m not OP) how these encampments are helping the cause.

The same way students helped end the Vietnam war with protests and helped South Africa end apartheid. Citizens of Israel are also protesting with much bigger crowds against Netanyahu. Protests have always been a way to, well, protest against something. Nothing new.

The students didn't achieve that. And very different issues. Stop with the CNN talking points if you aren't au courante to have an educated view on the situation

Not really comparable. And, Hamas brought this matter on itself. Students at Swarthmore have nothing to do with it.

Sure, they're protesting against . . . wait for it . . . their own government. The Swarthmore (and other US college) protestors are protesting against the Israeli government, which cares not at all, or that their university's endowment has investments that relate in some way to Israel. It's complete nonsense.

I'm a liberal, and the fuzzy-headed logic you used annoys me almost as much as the far right wing. You (and the protestors) make us all look bad, and undermine what are valid criticisms of US policy because it's so easy to dismiss you as an ineffective doofus.

I don't think Biden, (or in the future possibly Trump) or Netanyahu are affected by these college protests, or any of the us protests at all

Biden will be very affected. He NEEDS the young vote. That is why he tried so hard on the student loan forgiveness. Young liberals will not vote for Trump. But his stance toward Israel means many won’t vote for him either. This is problematic and the kids in the encampments know it. They are getting a lot of press.

I think you mean the same way that students helped elect Nixon as president. So Bravo because these terrorist are going to give us Trump.

The word you are looking for is idiotic.

You should be angry, OP. It’s outrageous that these clowns, who are mostly not even students and who are being paid by Soros, are treated like law-abiding protesters.

1.That is disappointing, OP. The Swarthmore campus is so beautiful!

2. STOP IT with the snowflake pandemic whining. It's getting old and you lose credibility every time you use it. Millions died. You can't whine about your kid missing out on extra luxury stuff, like graduations and parties.

3. Congratulations to your child! They are clearly intelligent and highly capable.

4. I have every sympathy for Palestinians being mass murdered right now, with newborns and their mothers starving in the streets, young orphans amputated of their limbs, rotting corpses under the rubble of their homes, and no future at all for any of them, dead or alive, under the oppression of the Israeli fundamentalist and racist right-wing government and voting block. At least YOUR child has a future. May he or she use it to promote peace around the world.

Why do college graduations and protesting have to be mutually exclusive? Why can’t protestors protest peacefully without ruining events for others?

Storming a graduation isn’t going to bring back anyone or anything. Want attention hold a press conference. Far more peaceful.

Ukraine has been under attack for a lot longer. Funny how white-on-white warfare doesn't merit an encampment, but the perceived white-on-POC conflict which is complicated x1000 does.

WE ARE FUNDING UKRAINE AND NOT SIDING WITH THE RUSSIANS.

There are protests against Israeli policies right now because it seems a lot of influential political and advocacy groups are siding with Israel, which is the equivalent of siding with Russia, in terms of people being killed and unfairness of collateral damage.

35K Palestinians killed.
Less than 2K Isaelis killed.

In the entire history of Israel, there have been far, far, more Palestinians and other Arab nationals killed than Israeli citizens.

At some point, you've got to realize that you're on the wrong side of history. Cold hard math, PP. Math doesn't lie.

Covid was several years ago. Move on. Stop using Covid as an issue for everything. They should move the encampment but they aren't. So, deal with it.

This, what did Hamas, who controls the area expect when they attacked Israel. They need to remove these encampments and protest in DC where it would matter.

These people are sooo selfish and entitled.

No one cares anymore. Move on.

Stop asking universities to divest. If the students don’t like it, go to another school. Someone will gladly take their spot.
