I started thinking about this yesterday, when I realized there had barely been any reaction to Florida's six week abortion ban going into effect - and I live in Florida. The stupid gd Alito flag thing. The polls showing this race so dismally close that I can't even believe it - while young leftists are trying to make sure Trump wins. THAT GUY.

I feel like the thing that people have been warning about is finally happening to me - I'm starting to tune out. I'm just so numb now.

Are you feeling that way? How are you overcoming it? I feel like now is the time we need to be most fired up - and I am just so tired. It's been 10 years of this now.

It's been far longer than 10 years.

I assume you are young enough to have come of age during the Obama era. I'm afraid the relative calm of that time was the exception, not the rule.

But, you have the right idea; Focus on what you can control.

I'm not that young - I'm 50. This is the most exhausting political period of my whole life. It's just relentless.

The GOP has taken to heart Steve Bannon’s (which is itself stolen from Russian propaganda, I’m pretty sure) maxim to “flood the zone with [poop].” You’re exhausted because that’s one of their goals. They hope you get so exhausted that you check out totally. They want you feel like both sides are equally responsible and so that when you check out, you check out not just from keeping up with their misdeeds and crimes, but also from voting for Democrats.

This x million.

The goal of the dark money is to exhaust everyone with the culture wars so they can rob everyone blind.

That’s why big business is getting back in bed with Trump.

But. We do have control over our votes and can protect our rights and our future.

I am OP and that sure as f*** isn't happening. Dems are messy and imperfect, and have my vote.

Mine too OP. I was so relieved when Biden was sworn in and hoped Trump would just fade into his golf course. Sadly, Trump did more damage to our country than I realized. The partisanship has been cranked up to 11 and it’s not been helped by social media.

Plenty of denialism and coping and blame. Amusing to accuse the right of doing terrible things when the Left is just as bad with the endless prosecutions and lies and censorship. Hunter Biden laptop a Russian misinformation according to 50 intelligence experts? LOL.

Trump is going to win. The world is not going to end. Life will go on.

This is authoritarian playbook. Throw so much crap out there that people become confused, cynical, and numb. Turn off the news. Get off this forum and find a campaign to volunteer for. If you can’t figure out who start with Alsobooks or Biden. Give them five dollars and you’ll get on the mailing list and you can start taking action.

I promise you, you Will feel better if you volunteer. And just remember the numbness that you are feeling is by design.

At least the border will be under control, which is my primary issue right now.

No, stop that. The left is "not just as bad". No one on the left is supporting a convicted rapist who tried to overthrow an election and caused his supporters to ransack the Capitol. Try as you might, you cannot escape this, and no amount of false equivalency will ever erase that fact.

Then why aren’t you angry that Trump sank the bipartisan immigration legislation? That would have been an improvement on the border now!

DP. Sorry, but the left has shown us who they are with their disgusting, pro-Hamas encampments and intimidation. Enough, already. You people support terrorists. No thanks.

in what way?
I think ppl ARE tired, of talking about it, hearing about it, and will vote accordingly, likely for Biden, so the place calms down.

Calms down?

Who is in power now?

What are our cities looking like with crime? Massive influxes of people the social system cannot support? High spending on EV tech, solar and batteries?

I'll close with this: you drove the policies and are getting what you wanted.

....And you're unhappy?

Clearly we do not, as we continue to send military aid to Israel.

We didn't have that "legislation" before and did not have the massive uncontrolled immigration problem. So explain what changed?

Oh, what changed is Biden revoked 'Remain in Mexico' policy. Tjat's what changed.

Now you want the smokescreen of new legislation when you created the problem in the first place.

We're a SOVEREIGN nation and you act like revoking a bunch of common sense policy was a good thing for Biden to do. It wasn't.

You had to do a 180 on everything just to prove you were in charge. I really hate you democrats. You're for eveyone except the USA. I just you for what you have done to us.
