1) Prosecute crime. ALL crime. Broken Windows policing model. Sentences will be SERVED, not suspended.
2) Make pot use in public / in vehicles is a primary-stop offense. Arrest, prosecute, fine and sentence offenders as often as necessary. 3) end free-range homelessness and eliminate hobo tent camps. Ban sleeping outdoors on public property and ban panhandling. Get homeless addicts and crazy people the help they need, and get them out of sight. |

1. Maybe don’t send a cop to prison because a drugged up thug doesn’t know how to drive an electric scooter unleashing skyrocketing crime that led to at LEAST 200 excess murders of Black men.
2. Maybe prosecute criminals so a 2 dollar can of cat food isn’t locked up behind plexiglass 3. More bike lanes |
Gun control? WTF is that going to do? DC already has some of the strictest gun laws in the country. |
Getting statehood? Please. Ba ha ha ha. |
Back in the day you'd get ticketed for eating a banana on metro - look up Fawn Hall. |
The metro was significantly safer in the bad old days of the 90s than it is now. |
|
Get serious about policing and prosecuting crime, including carjacking and retail theft.
Do something about the gangs of teens that harass riders on Metro. Stop giving housing vouchers to mentally ill, chronically homeless people who can't live in a civilized way with neighbors. Find another way to help these folks that does not place the burden on law-abiding apartment dwellers, many of whom are low-income seniors. |
Number 3 is only a good recommendation if it could be done. MD and VA won't allow it and we are not a state. |

1. Prosecute parents for the crimes of their children and truancy
2. Make DC way more business friendly 3. Shopping |
|
These are stupidly general.
Why not “give every kid a unicorn”? |
It’s an open forum. What are your ideas? |
I love DC and live in it. I think that if many parents would lose their housing benefits or government subsidies if they can't control their children, it would be very effective. |
Yes, the obvious things in my daily running around town east to west are the stench of pot, especially from cars, and the terrible Maryland drivers; and the lack of shopping options. Not actually seeing a lot of crime or homelessness, but I read about it on here. |
Sigh. So much hate and bigotry in your post! No one is a so-called “criminal” if they are under age 26. These are children! And whatever happened to innocent until proven guilty? Whatever happened to second chances? |

1. Enforce the damn traffic laws.
2. Enforce the damn traffic laws. 3. Enforce the damn traffic laws. |
