With respect to Philly, Penn is in a much better part than Temple. A few Temple students have actually been murdered the past few years. |
Penn's immediate surroundings aren't as bad as the other schools on that list. Just don't wander too far west after dark if you don't wanna get kilt. |
USC belongs on that list too. Palm trees don't mean it ain't hood. |
I’m sure there are lots of schools that could be added to the list sadly. Marquette Johns Hopkins UChicago To name a few |
University of New Mexico too |
Hopkins undergrad is not in a dangerous area of Baltimore. |
The dangerous area of Baltimore is called Baltimore. |
| The schools mentioned here are a hard yes for me. Clear out the exurban riff-raff! |
You sound naive. |
| You sound crackery. |
I'm not crackery. But I don't want to live somewhere where I'm constantly watching my back either. That doesn't sound like a fun college experience. |
Penn has put a TON of money on campus security, but yes dont head too west...however its way safer than temple |
| I remember reading about a Rhodes student murdered a few years ago: https://wreg.com/news/manhunt-monday/search-continues-for-3-gunmen-who-killed-rhodes-college-student/. Obviously that's uncommon. But yes, I'd be worried about crime in the area. |
Georgia Tech |
Ridiculous interview. When asked about crime & safety, the Rhodes College administrator switches the conversation to "snow storms". Not kidding. The area around Rhodes College is very dangerous. Near the Shelby Forest/Frayser section of Memphis which is the 4th most dangerous neighborhood in the entire US. https://moneyinc.com/the-10-most-dangerous-neighborhoods-in-america/ |
