Yes, if you sign your kid up for GE, they will get their own Known Traveler Numbers. You put that in the reservation, and that makes sure you get PreCheck. Kids under 18 would get it anyway if on the same reservation as parents who have PreCheck.

Because not all airports have them so if you are flying into another US airport from international and you also get TSA pre check domestically.

Two reasons: the MPC line can still be an hour long and last time I tried to use the app it kept crashing so I had to go through the regular line. The GE people walk up to a kiosk and are done in 5 minutes.

As stated above, you also get PreCheck, which helps a ton with all domestic security lines.

And if you ever cross at a land or sea border (only towards the US), GE usually has separate lines. Last year we saved over an hour in the car driving back from Vancouver to Seattle- they have estimated wait times on the signs right before the border.
