Good luck with that one. Columbus is cloudy almost every day in winter.

It’s supposed to be sunny on Saturday and Sunday, hoping it stays long enough into Monday. Where would be better? Isn’t it just as cloudy in PA, VT etc?

Where is the cloud forecast best for the partial eclipse?

There will also be ample opportunities for folks to view the partial eclipse: "The best locations for viewing can be the Southwest and the East, especially east of the Appalachians," AccuWeather lead long-range forecaster Paul Pastelok said. "Cities like El Paso, Albuquerque, Philadelphia, Washington D.C., New York City and Raleigh should all have great views.”

D.C. area is going to be awesome!!😎

Thanks I cancelled my Columbus hotel and got one in Ithaca.

I found a place called Marshall Park in the small NY town of North Rose. It looks really nice, I wonder if it’ll be busy.

In PA and VT it is cloudy some days and clear other days.

It’s not like averages ALWAYS apply…

Ok, and...? It's a big state.

I’m driving up to Ithaca Sunday then might drive northeast for a few hours Monday morning. It looks like Rochester and Syracuse are going to be too cloudy.

Traffic was horrendous today! Ugh.

It’s a little more involved than looking up weather.com forecasts for each location, but you’re obviously not interested so I won’t explain.

No, it’s really not. You have to go where there’s minimal cloud coverage and in the path of totality. If OP has 3 places booked she needs to look today at which one has the best odds and go there and cancel the others. I get wanting to see totality, I’m not hating on that at all, but if OP can’t figure this out she needs to find a dedicated umbraphile forum. For your average eclipse viewer, they just need to choose the most accessible destination to them that has the most optimal forecast for weather and cloud coverage. It isn’t rocket science.

If everyone booked 3-4 places, it’s no wonder it’s so damn impossible to get a place to rent, the AirBandB folks should have had a no cancel fee 1 month out from the event. Now you’ve ruined it for many people who thought they couldn’t get a place and the people who rent their place and thought they had someone booked.
