What area is looking best for eclipse viewing? We have a reservation western PA, Syracuse area, VT.

I reserved a hotel in Columbus and will drive about 30 miles NW the day of. Hoping for no clouds.

Visiting a friend in Burlington VT area. As of now the forecast is looking good. Here's an article about the effect of clouds on eclipse viewing. All clouds aren't the same.

I'm wondering this as well. I am pondering just waking up day of and seeing how far I can drive and what I can see. Would you drive towards Cleveland, Ohio or Erie, Penn?

You won’t get far due to clouds. Plan to arrive the night before the eclipse.

Total Eclipse of the heart! We are doomed!
We witnessed the partial eclipse a few years ago.

Good luck with that one. Columbus is cloudy almost every day in winter.

A partial eclipse is like being almost dead.
Nowhere near what a full eclipse is.
