What did you expect with three?

It can be done with half the cost. County Rec camps are good and are closer to $400 a week for 9-4 coverage.

Considering switching careers qnd becoming a summer camp operator. They must make a fortune.

I feel lucky with what we have after reading this! One camp for 7 weeks, 5 days a week is $2200, then a 4 day camp for $150 (there is a foundation that funds most of it) and then another week at $350. $2725 for the summer, plus a family vacation for the last week.

Overseas trip for a month then 3 weeks sports 350 a week each plus enrichment 2 weeks 200 a week

We need camp as childcare and our town offers VERY cheap camp (like $1300 total) for all but the first and last week of summer vacation. Unfortunately, there is no aftercare for the youngest cohort. So our 5 yo will be going to a very nice camp that is 5x as much but has care until 6 and door to door bus service. Sigh. I hope he doesn’t get used to it because it’ll be bare bones town camp once he qualifies for aftercare next year.

I don't understand your question. We have no problem with this. It's a great camp and I expect the kids will have a wonderful summer.

Luckily for my kids, my goal is not to put them in the cheapest camp I can possibly find.

I don’t work but spending maybe $1500 per kid on specialty camps.

$1600 for 6 weeks of camps for one kid. We will spend the $$$ on vacation.

100% this.

Dang. I thought I was splurging with camps in that price range. They are generally run by specialty groups and high quality.

2 weeks family vacation, 1 week half day golf camp, 1 week half day chess camp. $500 total camp fees. Remainder of time will be mom/kid adventures. Best part of teaching is summers with my kid

A college nanny would be way less too. They’d do it for $800/week ($20x40.)

It includes their children not living at their home for most of the summer. Not what I have in mind.
