Yep. |
+1 And high end |
It’s one of those right place, right time things. I popped in once and found lots of Baby Boden on the final markdown rack. For less than $35 I got $200 worth of Baby Boden (that had the original prices still on it). But that doesn’t happen every time. You need to know when to time the shipments. |
There was an interesting article about how Nordstrom can't send too much of its original inventory to the Rack because then it would be too much direct competition for the main retail store, so it's a balance. The rack relies more (like 80%) on its own (crappy) supply chain of original lines plus categories that aren't sold in the department store at all, like certain home goods and beauty supplies.
For the most part, the days of scoring amazing deals at brick and mortar discount stores are over and the real deals are to be found online, via resale, or through thrifting. |
Because there is no more Filene's. ![]() |
I have a friend who would walk miles through a blizzard for the chance to shop at Nordstrom Rack, even though she almost certainly had been there within the past week. It’s the thrill of the hunt, the pursuit. To hold up the brand name top that retails for $150 and say you paid $49 for it.
It definitely isn’t my thing, but I get that it is a thing for someone else. |
It was good in the very early 2000s to about 2012. It's all crap now. I would say in my estimation 90% of what is available and affordable for the average person is extremely low quality, compared to construction/materials and fit before 2015. |
I am always complimented on my style. I only shop at these places. I have a good eye. |
I don't like the Rack generally with the exception of shoes. Maybe because it's more contained, organized by size, and you can see things easily. I went recently and got two pairs. I have no patience for sorting through the clothing though. |
And returns. |
I search for certain brands I like online and can sometimes get amazing deals. I no longer enjoy going into the stores themselves. |
Imagine being this gullible. They put fake tags on inferior B-grade and defective crap. |
Agree. Imagine being or having time to care so much to post. Yikes. I find less and less in those places, these days, but I really don't care where people shop or don't shop. Not everyone is rich, and you probably don't dress as great as you think you do, OP. |
If you have time, they are like a treasure hunt. |
Nah. That's Ross you're thinking of. |
