MOB dresses -- help me help my mom pick a dress for sister's wedding

Mom wants her back covered and would like something floor length, but is agnostic on sleeves and neckline. She's on the small size -- about 5'5", probably a size 2, smaller bust. She does not want to look "matronly" but would also like to avoid anything overtly sexy. Goal is pretty, age appropriate (she's 68), reasonably comfortable. Thoughts on these or suggestions for others?

(also available in green which I really like)

(might be too "spring" but this brand does tons of bridesmaids/MOB dresses so we could probably find in a more autumn color by this summer)

Hard pass on the last 2 for an older woman.

I agree the third one looks too bridesmaidy -- I'm not sure why, it's something about the bodice.

Is the wedding in the DMV area, or further south?

If she's a rower, she probably has great arms, and is fit, right? Would she do something like this?

Here's another one-shouldered one that is really pretty:
https://www.neimanmarcus.com/p/rickie-freeman-for-teri-jon-pleated-one-shoulder-ruffle-column-gown-prod270740303?childItemId=NMT5PW9_&msid=4787127&navpath=cat000000_cat000001_cat43810733&page=1&position=3

Or this one which would need a wrap but I think it wouldn't be matronly:
https://www.neimanmarcus.com/p/rickie-freeman-for-teri-jon-pleated-one-shoulder-jacquard-mermaid-gown-prod271460128?childItemId=NMT5RE1_&msid=4797270&navpath=cat000000_cat000001_cat43810733&page=0&position=39

There are some really pretty strapless, but I'm assuming that's a no-go?

This one could be pretty:
https://www.neimanmarcus.com/p/rickie-freeman-for-teri-jon-off-shoulder-metallic-jacquard-gown-prod271720015?childItemId=NMT4CJ2_&msid=4464890&navpath=cat000000_cat000001_cat43810733&page=0&position=32

I love this one, and it's a fall color, but most women would probably think too bright for MOB:
https://www.neimanmarcus.com/p/lafayette-148-new-york-viscose-silk-asymmetric-cap-sleeve-dress-prod261890136?childItemId=NMT4TD4_&msid=4565451&navpath=cat000000_cat000001_cat43810733&page=0&position=77

I guess the asymetrical is really in this year, as I'm seeing a lot more really pretty one-shouldered dress, but she'd have to be pretty comfortable showing off that shoulder.

They are all stunning! I’d go with the one she feels prettiest in and comfort.
I’m a 68 year old who has been MOB and I would pick the first dress in green. It’s so feminine and I don’t like my arms and definitely wouldn’t want to wear a wrap or shawl.

Some bridal stores carry MOB dresses. At a brick and mortar store, she can narrow down the shapes she likes/dislikes. Then, start ordering online.

Np - these from Neiman’s seem better to me than the ones op posted. They are age appropriate and look like something a MOB would wear - tasteful and elegant. The ones op posted seem like something her mom would wear to a black tie benefit rather than to her daughter’s wedding. JMO.

OP here and these are all perfect, and yes, likely a little too pricy for her taste. Though she never spends money on clothes so I'm forwarding just in case she wants to splurge! I would actually love it if she decided to do that.

But this is *exactly* the vibe and I like that they are all somewhat covered up without feeling matronly at all. That's exactly what she wants. We did like at MOB dresses at the bridal salon when my sister got her dress but they all felt wrong.

One shouldered is a no, she tells me. I also think these might run a bit too modern for the event. She really likes the idea of a floral or something with natural elements.

These are all going to swallow a size two person.
The first one is my favorite of the ones you posted. The last one is really bad.

I also love Lela rose for this. How about something like this: https://tinyurl.com/yc67xu4z

I think the Lela Rose dresses posted here are lovely. Persuade her!!

OP, as a 60yo woman I like all 3 of your choices better then the Lela Rose dresses - much more romantic style. I think my favorite is the first - in green, then the 2nd one. I don't like the 3rd one as much. She's going to look lovely!

The first one would be gorgeous on a size 2/4 person. What is her coloring? I’d als suggest going to Neimans Tyson’s and getting a shopper. She’ll pull a bunch of options in her size and can transfer things from other stores.

I posted about getting a neimans shopper. You could also keep an eye on Lela rose on sale at Saks and neimans online. I actually bought one for my rehearsal dinner. Many of her dresses are seasonless so you might luck out.
