North Woods by Daniel Mason

Have you actually read this book or did you just google "Books with 'house' in the title"?

Because I have read it and that title is incidental at best.

+1 to House of Leaves

North Woods! It’s kind of a twist— main character is the plot of land, which does include a house that is built and then changed through centuries.

Highly, highly recommend it, one of my favorite books from last few years.

Fall of the House of Usher

What Moves the Dead (retelling of the above)

Honestly, a lot of this list is horror.

Thinking of more…

A Good House for Children. I read this as an ARC and thought it had some strong points.

The Villa. Also read this as an ARC. It was fine. Wouldn’t be surprised if it’s turned into a movie/series.

Mexican Gothic. Actually disliked this one but it meets your criteria!
