Re-read the question bro. The PP asked in the DMV currently not hisotrically. Solid link tho

For what it's worth girls playing on a non Academy team in MLSn is a gimmick.

Unfortunately for the girls you just can't compete with an elite boy who's stronger, faster, and bigger especially after puberty.

NWSL needs to create their own version of MLS Next.

She doesn’t play for Alexandria any more

Sure go hang out over there with the rest of the trees over there where nobody can see you.

For the record females playing on male teams/leagues/clubs has never been an issue. Boys have no problem with girls playing as long as they're good and pull their weight on the team.

FYI in GA both Lamorinda and Lonestar (have fun with that ECRL) have "trees" playing on a girls team.

Didn’t Alyssa Thompson also play MLSNext? Cool story if so.

Sisters Alyssa and Gisele Thompson play for Total Futbol Academy of MLS Next, one of several prominent clubs in Southern California.

Almost all female players who are good enough to compete at this level are already at the level where they're getting looks for a youth national team. When they play with girls, they have to play at least two age groups up usually because they're very skilled and also very physically and athletically developed for their age, even as much as two or three years ahead of their biological age

Just as a follow-up to my last post, if you're a female youth player and you're able to compete on an MLS next team and find a role in the team and contribute you are youth national team player pool material. It doesn't mean you'll be in the starting 11 but you are in that ballpark of absolutely deserving a look or getting invited to a camp or the times of year when they look at new players.

Kind of. The girls playing in MLSn at TFA are usually in the "older" age groups. The reason for this is because non Academy MLSn clubs are where Acadamies shop for new recruits. As the teams get older any kind of talent has moved on to playing for the local Acadamies. This leaves the non academy MLSn clubs with positions to fill and girls parents love the opportunity and the pay well compared to boys. But again they still have to be good enough to hold their own with boys.

Because of the influence of Acadamies and MLS / Pro soccer it's amazing how different boys soccer camps, events, etc are compared to girls camps, events, etc. To give an idea in Socal there's 4-5 big week long soccer camps run at local collegrs for girls and they generally cost around $1000. Equivalent boys camps for boys if you can find them are $500 or less.

So girls suck? Is this why a U15 boys team beat a USWNT?

We are finally admitting the games are slower and not as good as men’s now? Or is that only until our daughters make a National team or go pro ?

My son is on a U18/19 MLSNext team. Ain’t no way a girl could play on his team. The physicality and speed of play of these games is crazy.

It could only happen in the younger ages.

Fwiw, I’m a female- played in college. I’m not bashing women. But even I stopped playing the son-parent games when these boys were 6”+ and 175+. It’s like a freight train coming at you. My brother broke my wrist with a shot when he was 18 and I was 14.
