The murals were done by a person brought in from Texas. The graphics that entirely cover the 2nd floor windows eliminate a great deal of natural light to the library. Additionally the teacher who ran a weather station used to gather data from looking out those windows but could no longer do so once the visibility was so drastically reduced. But hey - as long it looks good on the outside, right? |
| I'm a parent at Justice. Her tweet was annoying, but that is not a reason to fire her if that is actually what happened. This will be the third principal at Justice since my kids have been there. It's not an easy job, and I appreciate any principal who comes and tries to help our community. I've heard that teachers are unhappy. If that's true, then I hope this means we won't keep losing so many going forward. I believe thatPrincipal Narcisse's heart was in the right place. |
| I didn't mean to hit "submit' on that last post. Anyway, I hope she is happy in her new position and FCPS finds Justice a good candidate soon. It's a tough job but I suspect most principal positions are difficult to fill. |
Hopefully Justice gets an effective leader. |

This seems in poor taste, honestly. Make it about the school and community, not about you. Yikes! That said, it doesn't seem like principals get much mangement or PR training for people leading huge organizations. What a sh&$show. |
| Read the mug! |
Then say a prayer that one of the assistant principals (RL) does NOT apply. That would be a disaster. |
FCPS is a disaster.... |

It wasn’t just the tweet. There were are still are tons of issues that were created by her and most of her “Amazing 8” (administration). In the three years of her tenure she cultivated a toxic and socially unsafe culture of fear and compliance. One wrong move, comment, or gesture from anyone about anything that was corrupt or needed improvement lead to a nasty email and a meeting about it with her and the staff member’s AP. Justice needs a whole new administration. Point blank period. Everything right now in the school is falling apart.
It’s not just the administration that’s the problem, a lot of staff who stayed this year are a problem, too. Right now there are a lot of mediocre and poor performing teachers that are in the school. The school used to have staff that actually cared and wanted to be there for the right reasons. Last year, Narcisse pushed out and got rid of every single good and high performing teacher and staff member that everyone knew. And because of that, it caused a lot of problems amongst the student body and now here we are. I hope that FCPS is able to find somebody who knows and understands the JHS population and doesn’t hire a principal and assistant principles out of DEI. They don’t need any more of that. Justice needs a principal who understands, embraces, and promotes diversity and education, as well as someone who understands the complications and struggles of living in poverty. |
| Everything written above is 100% true, except for this part: “she cultivated a toxic and socially unsafe culture of fear and compliance.” That is 1000% true. |
Interesting. So “sprucing up the place” doesn’t always mean “better”. Those humongous graphics are more of a thing in California and Texas, so perhaps the principal was inspired by that culture if she’s from there. However, the graphics are usually painted on an exterior wall so they don’t cover up the windows. |
So in other words....it was a pretty typical FCPS school. |
Wow. What a lapse in judgement and discretion. And so self-centered. |

Justice pyramid parent here - word on the inside was she was a narcissist, long before the tone deaf tweet. Morale has been low for a long time.
It's a tragedy how badly that school has been managed. The county leaves the school to handle a steady influx of newly arrived children, many of whom have not had formal schooling, and then punishes Justice when the kids inevitably drop out. They tried for years to establish an independent facility that would accommodate those students, but the county refused. Dump the problem on the school, and then threaten to take its accreditation. (Let me be clear, this is not to rage against immigration, it is to point out that the burden is not equally shared across the county). I want to send my child there one day. I pay 26k a year in taxes. How can a county with Langley, McLean, and TJ continue to turn their back on this mess of a situation? |
