Mason District elects some of the most far-left politicians in the county. Maybe ask them to enforce the housing codes, cooperate with federal immigration officials, and set up a separate school-within-a-school for kids who arrive with little schooling and can't speak English. All Mason officials know how to do is demand more money even though the spending per pupil at Justice is much higher than at other schools. |

How did this person get hired? Fairfax is an attractive employer. Do they need to go to Texas to hire a graduate from one of the worst public schools in Texas? Moreover, a person of this same name was sentenced in Houston in 2009 in federal court as a co-conspirator to mortgage fraud (seemed like a minor player when reading the record). It is possible that there was another person of this same name in Houston, but I would think most would be skeptical. And while second chances are a good thing, there’s a judgment issue here.?This gets one a job at a large suburban high school? There is a Voldemort factor here which cannot be spoken. |

She was fully behind the “equity grading” nonsense:
https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/2873200/fairfax-schools-implemented-equity-grading-to-fight-bias/ Glad she is leaving. |
Not just in poor taste. Extremely tone-deaf too. |
She was a DEI hire. FCPS is full of incompetent people hired because they fit the DEI profile. |
What's your proof that she was a "DEI hire"? It's a racist statement to claim that any Black principal hired is a "DEI hire." She'd been at several low-income schools in Houston, so presumably had at least some experience relevant to a majority-FARMS high school in Fairfax County. She may not have worked out well - it's hard to quibble with those who called out her response to the Justice student's overdose as inappropriate and tone-deaf - but her shortcomings are her own. |
Fairfax is not an attractive employer and although people don't want to believe this people are leaving education. Way too many demands for not great pay. |
WTOP just published the news story. The principal is taking a nice job overseas someplace. Sadly the school has had 7 principals over the past decade. |
Nope - it’s 5 over the past 12 years: Jones (retired), Calhoun (booted), Gros (promoted), Eck (moved to an ES near her house), and Narcisse. |
Thanks. And here’s the article link below. All the best to the current principal in her exciting new job overseas. Hopefully Justice can get some stability in leadership going forward. It’s inspiring how the families in the Barcroft Lake area still support their neighborhood school, which has its share of challenges. https://wtop.com/fairfax-county/2024/03/fairfax-co-parents-staff-outline-concerns-as-justice-high-searches-for-5th-principal-in-12-years/ |
Parents are always "included" in hiring process but it does not matter what teachers or parents think. It's decided by the county. |
what false BS this is. you don't even work here. |
fcps is still very much behind equity grading. that is not about the principal. |
Eck was all vanity and smoking mirrors. |
