The lobby and common areas are pretty. Jose Andres has a restaurant there now. The rooms still have some gold tackiness to them, but a lot of DC hotels are stuffy like that. |
😂 |
No kidding. I’m betting this was posted by Pendry and Salamander and maybe Iguana too |
| JW Marriott on PA Ave? Close to the sights, theatres, etc. and kid-friendly in the way most Marriotts are. Indoor pool and restaurant etc |
| The Line is nice if you get the suite. |
yeah but it’s way up on Adam’s Morgan, which is fun but probably not for a family with kids who want to be near the Mall and museums. |
You are acting irrational. Do you think a car jacking couldn’t occur in MD or VA? At what frequency do you think these car jackings are occurring? I drive in and out of DC for work and theaters and museums. Thousands do everyday, too. You can be a victim of a crime at any grocery store parking lot, the mall, a random sidewalk, etc. please seek help. You shouldn’t live your life in irrational fear. 😧 |
Stuffy and tacky usually don’t belong in the same sentence. |
Indeed it is. |
| The Willard gets good reviews. |
| The Four Seasons is great with kids. |
The former Trump is now a WA |
Well neither are good. I think WA feels stuffy. The bar is nice. I didn't go there when it was a Trump property. I wouldn't be surprised it it was tacky. My favorite DC hotel is The Conrad. That said, since like most on this board, I live near DC, so i haven't stayed in too many DC hotels and am not a good source on the subject. |
| Intercontinental at the wharf |
There are a lot of DC hotels that are both. Stuffy and tacky with heavy curtains with tie backs, ruffled bed skirts, good fixtures that are elaborate. It is hard to find a modern hotel in DC. Many miss the mark. WA is as nice as the others and has a great lobby, bar, and restaurants. Jose Andres knows what he is doing and came after Trump was out. |
