I think there are two different things being talked about. Her becoming the official super vs the Covid response. I think I remember mcps was really awful about reopening and was very unprepared as far as ventilation and supplies. Ordered things late - didn’t have items. Def not the fault of the teachers. |
They got new leadership. The old ones were good, the new ones are a problem. |
I'm interested that Byron Johns, the NAACP MC Chapter Education Chair, has not been visible recently as the NAACP MC Chapter has protested McKnight's dismissal. Anybody know the story with that? |
Agreed. I liked her. No one I worked with had issues with her direct leadership. We understood her ouster was political. |
The point is that teachers have been out to get McKnight for over two years. |

So, the votes of no confidence in 2024 and 2024 were what? Tough love? |
me too not sure why this fringe had it in for her from day one |
As I look at a picture, I can think of two... |
No, I've dealt with him and he was extremely helpful. It is really odd who also showed up to testify against the MVA when they were original supports of it and there is a high percentage of minorities. |
It looks like he moved on. It was really weird they had some random woman at the MVA BOE meeting instead of him. I wonder if he didn't agree with the direction they were taking and move on but it says here he is still involved. https://edtrust.org/the-equity-line/profiles-in-education-equity-byron-johns/ |
Here is his organization: https://www.bandbcoalition.org/ |
Byron is still very much active with the NAACP Parents’ Council. He has not moved on. |
He hasn't spoken at a BOE meeting in a year. |
Then their behavior at the recent boe meeting is even more shocking. |
