Vision board for wedding guest attire, how to interpret?

It is black tie, though the men side of the mood board look more like suits rather than traditional tuxes (though I'm not 100 percent sure of the difference between suit and tux). The wording specifies floor length and glamor.

Then, you don’t have a floor length gown, you need to get one. Whether you go with the bridal suggestions for color and style is up to you.

Wise advice here. Just get something cheap that doesn't look too bad and blend in for the photos.

It is black tie if the women are supposed to be in floor
Length dresses but the bride didn’t trust people to know what to wear so she had to show them.

Rent the runway? Not sure if their prices. Otherwise, as PPs suggest, get something cheap. Are you going with anyone who will be deciding between tux and suit?

Just curious: what time of day and what day of the week is the reception?

I just googled this (wedding vision boards sent to guests) and it's not a thing. So your bride is a nutcase and doesn't deserve anyone enabling her.

+1
I can’t even imagine the level of arrogance needed to send guests a “vision board.” WTAF?

Don't send a gift. This relationship will be over in 2, maybe 3 years max. She wants a picture perfect wedding, not a marriage.

Agree bride is being tacky beyond measure, but black tie = floor length

Apparently it’s helpful. Haha

This is awesome. You know what I never have a question about. What to wear to a wedding. I have summer dress, cocktail dress and long dress (evening). You get the dress depending on the time of your wedding. So easy!

Run far, far away from Bridezilla.

+1 also weddings that are this focused on appearance really tend not to be a lot of fun

I say this as someone who has a big wedding. But, we trusted guests to wear what they found fun, flattering, and comfortable to dance!

I weep for the younger generations who spend all their time worrying about the surface and the images, while ignoring the meaning and the experience.

It's beyond rude to tell your guests what to wear, beyond an indication of the formality level so that they will be comfortable in the environment.

I personally would generally ignore and pretend I couldn't open it/ didn't see it.

No. Dressier cocktail dresses are fine for black tie.

If you are a woman over 45 there is literally nothing you can wear from three of the kit boards linked above.
I have no idea what a 60 year old Grandma would wear.

Imagine middle age over weight people in these grayish dresses! The mood is depression.
