Vision board for wedding guest attire, how to interpret?

Anonymous
Have you ever received a link to a vision board for wedding guest attire? I guess it's helpful to see the level of formality expected, but how closely do they expect guests to match up?

This one shows a series of fancy floor length gowns in three colors. My takeaway is that I'm expected to do floor length, which stinks because my only dresses are cocktail length and at 5'2" it's hard to rent or get something that doesn't need a lot of tailoring. Am I expected to match the colors, too?

I know, right? If it wasn't family...

I’d get something cheap on Amazon that matches the general color scheme, they obviously care more about the vision than your comfort.

A wedding full of women in floor-length gowns is silly and a little weird. I guarantee you there will be plenty of others in cocktail length dresses. The bride's expectation is ridiculous.

This is the way.

You either bail or you wear what you were planning to wear.

I just googled this (wedding vision boards sent to guests) and it's not a thing. So your bride is a nutcase and doesn't deserve anyone enabling her.

I would not buy a new dress unless I was in the bridal party or it was black tie.

Op here, I googled it too before posting, to see how to respond and if it was a new trend to ask your guests to match. I found this, which interestingly are the same colors on my cousin's mood board:

It is black tie, though the men side of the mood board look more like suits rather than traditional tuxes (though I'm not 100 percent sure of the difference between suit and tux). The wording specifies floor length and glamor.

Apparently it’s helpful. Haha

Huh my bad. I was the person who googled who said it was not a thing. Those people are terrible. like, really really terrible.

That’s insane

Guess we can’t always choose our relatives…

Just wear what you like and what you feel good in.
