College and University Discussion
Ha, you wish! As if students are being accepted to multiple Ivies. |
Jews have been over represented at top schools for a while relative to their population. The downward trend had been obviously starting prior to the war in Israel Gaza. |
| Harvard is now the Bud Light of the Ivy League. It will continue to exist as a brand but it has alienated its customer base (alumni) who can and have taken their money elsewhere. It will be a slow decline but eventually they will reach the point where they will be the safety Ivy. Yes, the strivers will still apply in great numbers and embrace the woke ethos that will remain entrenched for a generation or two. |
Some say Gaza has become Dresden. |
|
Dude, people will always want to go to Harvard. Trust.
You all hoping for the contrary are amusing. Also, stop reducing what is happening in Israel/Gaza down to a talking point. There are atrocities and terrorism, for sure. But it is a complex situation, where none of you are, going back generations. Lots of dirty hands in the mix, for certain. But solving it isn't as easy as you Keyboard Experts in Foreign Policy and Terrorism seem to think it is. So just stop. |

Well, if Penn is any guide...yes.
I mean, the current President resigned, they have a new white guy in charge...and applications were up 8% to a new record. Haven't seen much of anything about Penn since the Fall. |
| I don't think H will have completely turned a corner until a year or two into the next president's tenure. Right now the search for a new president hasn't even officially kicked off. Too early to say. |
| This is mostly a "corner" engineered by right wing politicians in en election year. Harvard is fine and will continue to lead in discovering knowledge and seeking truth. |
This is a bad comparison because Bud Light did nothing alienating - conservatives are just fragile babies |
Care to explain yourself? |
Partnering with a trans woman for one singular custom 6 pack of beer that was never sold to the public isn't alienating. Bud Light never implied that only trans people could drink their beer or said literally anything that affected current customers at all. Bud Light simply thought working with a popular TikTok creator might help introduce the product to a new audience. The response this received from conservatives was absolutely ridiculous and unfounded. It made it clear that they want transgender people to be isolated from society on all levels. |
It wasn’t one six pack it was the delusional ideas of an Ivy educated marketing VP that caused the downfall of bud light. This video did far more damage than the one six pack made for Dylan. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/video/news/video-2915545/Video-Bud-Light-VP-talks-pivoting-brands-fratty-touch-humor.html |
That was not the reason most people were outraged. It was about Dylan and their hatred of trans people. |
Great line! |

Harvard is Harvard. Will always be in demand.
If your DC received an acceptance today, he/she would attend. There's your answer. |
