Has Harvard turned a corner?

Do you think this is true? Or do you think this is just something people say?

For instance, my kid has been accepted in-state to UVA, WM, etc. If he gets into Harvard RD--would people in that situation really NOT send their kids to Harvard if they had the $$? Or is it more just this hypothetical thing. I have heard people say the same about other Ivies too.

I'm an alum. Harvard is getting no more money for me. My kids and grandkids are not going there.

It was never an option to begin with unless they were accepted.

Socling stay: 93% of Harvard applicants end up choosing to not enroll.

93% of Harvard applicants get rejected. Of those that do get in, 84% attend.

There’s always what older people claim is a form of “wokism” at the top universities. Same with Harvard protests on apartheid in South Africa and demands to divest in the country. It took Harvard years to do it.

I don’t care how many times people yell antisemitism to shut down people protesting. No one can watch those videos and not feel repulsion for the Israeli government.

They are trying to wipe out the Palestinian population either by blowing them up or starving them to death. And as predicted they are already making plans to build on Palestinian land.

Students are usually on the right side.

Doubt that conclusion. And in this instance they are just useful idiots for Jihad.

It will be a slow decline but eventually they will reach the point where they will be the safety Ivy. Yes, the strivers will still apply in great numbers and embrace the woke ethos that will remain entrenched for a generation or two.

This is a bad comparison because Bud Light did nothing alienating - conservatives are just fragile babies

How about you google “comfort animals & coloring books 2016”

I don't need a random British person's opinion on Harvard.

For the win! 😂

I’ve been amid a lot of Middle Easterners for decades. The concept that the people in Gaza are innocent bystanders is a huge con job that gullible Leftists are falling for like little kids thinking gramps just stole their nose.

Your kids and grandkids are not going to Harvard because they most likely are not getting in.

There is a lot of arrogance “Harvard standing is so assured…!” This sums up the Harvard entitled attitude, which I have come to find is not how I wanted to raise my kids.

It’s not like Harvard actually needs your pennies. They have more money than they know what to do with

I love how when a kid gets into Harvard + some other fine choices, they act like they are seriously considering all the choices but somehow always end up at Harvard. Almost no one says no to Harvard. The brand name is just too strong to turn down

Went to another Ivy and one of my roommates had turned down Harvard. I didn’t apply there because the kids from my high school who went there weren’t likable or well rounded.

I turned down Harvard for another top school. Went I attended Harvard's "Visitas"(accepted students' weekend) everyone was rude and arrogant. When I asked why I should choose Harvard over my other options everyone looked at me like I had two heads and said "it's Harvard." No one claimed to enjoy the classes or friends etc. The students felt kind of soulless.

Students are almost on the wrong side of everything and always have been. Divestment probably hurt not helped in South Africa. Reasons the government fell unrelated compeltely.

What do you expect Israel to do? What is your solution for Israel? How would you move forward in a different way?

At least they're useful for something. Most find that Zionists are worthless across the board.

I went to Harvard. It wasn’t perfect but would be thrilled to send a kid there should they be so lucky. Call me when yield goes below 80

Sounds like my kid. Really liked Harvard 's campus and offerings. But, then, talked to a couple kids who weren't happy and said ot was very competitive. Then, contacted friend at H to ask a few questions, and friend got increasingly snobby and too busy. It was a turn-off. DD already had her share of competition from magnet HS and decided not to apply. Very fortunate to have a choice of Ivy/T10, SLACs. Right call for her.
