Check out private schools. The Catholic schools would advocate abstinence.

We are looking to relocate to Fairfax County and would like ask about values of student body in middle schools there. We are muslim and socially conservative. That being said, we would like our daughter to attend a middle school where is there is less of boyfriend/girlfriend culture and more focus on academics. We respect everyones culture and choices, but our culture and religion requires that we refrain from sexuality before getting married. That being said, we would like to pick a middle school with less of that going on. We realize that all schools will have that to an extent, but we would like to choose a school with less of that. We also realized that we play important role in teaching our values to her. She is very good at math. Which one of the middle schools is a better fit for us? P.S. If you have different opinions about dating/sexuality before marriage we respect your choices and do no want to debate about that here.

I am not saying this in a flippant way, but perhaps Catholic school might be a good fit?

There is more of an emphasis on chastity, abstinence and respect of religious values in Catholic schools. I believe most of them had at least a few non acatholic kids attend over pandemic. A conservative religious kid would probably be more respected there than in the local public schools, which have a very pro atheism/anti faith culture amongst its students and a very open sexuality culture institutionally.

OP I suggest you figure out where other Muslims are sending their kids to schools as it sounds like you don’t want your kids to integrate and become too Western.

Take a look at King Abdullah Academy. It may be what you’re looking for.

The Catholic schools will have an overall culture that does not contradict their families religious values on chastity and abstinence.

FCPS infuses a very open and promiscuous sexuality framework in most aspects of its curriculum throughout middle and high school.

Even if both have kids having sex, the institutions will approach their values very differently.

Maybe identify middle schools who send a good number of kids to TJ High School: Longfellow, Carson, and maybe some other middle schools. There may be significant body of kids in such schools that are academic oriented and less of fashion, make up, dating oriented girls. This is just a guess.

If you are looking for privates that are not religious oriented, then check out Basis Independent McLean and Nysmith.

I don't have kids in any of the schools I mentioned. My kids are still young. I am aware of the culture among middle school girls due to my friends who have kids that age. They say more nerdy the girls are, the less they talk about fashion, make up stuff.

I think this is a bit misleading.

Many of the nerdy girls are really into sexuality right now as that is what is being pushed by the social.media culture. My teens mentioned the big thing right now among the quirky/nerdy crowd is polyamory and multiple partners.

These are not the Star Trek nerds you grew up with in the 80s/90s/00s.

The parochial schools in Fairfax are K-8, so middle school is a continuation of elementary school. I’m not sure if you’re open to Catholic school, op, but you will find a community of like-minded parents there.

As somebody who went to rocky this is not true( as of SY 2019-20). If your child wants to date/have sex, they will have find a way to do that regardless of any rules you may attempt to place on them. This was very true at rocky.

Another vote for King Abdullah Academy.

Promiscuous? No. Fact base. Which is better than the BS I got exposed to in Catholic school.

How can you be pro-women’s education and not pro women’s rights to do whatever they want with their body?

PP can you just be respectful?OP has a valid question.
I’m a therapist for teens and I treat kids who go to Cooper, Longfellow, etc and the things some of them say/wear is appalling —> fight clubs in the bathrooms, the toxic social media , drugs, promiscuity.
I am not against having kids be exposed to the “real world” but perhaps delaying some of this exposure until they are more grounded on their two feet as in Highschool is not a bad plan

^ Agree which is why we are doing Catholic School in nova until the culture calms down a bit and then switch to public for HS. One of my neighbors’ daughters goes to Thoreau and states she is “Pansexual” in the 8th grade. Huh, as a 13 year old how do you know that you are attracted to male, female, transexual, intersex , etc ???
I’m open minded but this is a little too much

You don’t think your sample is slightly biased if you are a therapist? Are you saying your private school patients don’t report issues with drugs and sex?
