Utter nonsense. Most of my tutorials were outside my college. All of my lectures were. And I spent almost all my time working in the Bodleian. Students in all colleges get their degrees from the university, and have access to all the university facilities and libraries.

Please don’t post nonsense when you have no idea what you are talking about.
Great advice, but it would reduce the volume of content on this site by ~90%.

I agree. I think you get tutors from your own college, but are free to use resources anywhere within the University.

What is the significance of the college then? Is it just your dorm? Genuinely curious.

True. DS is at St. Hugh's but studies all over oxford. Tutors also are in different houses. Classes are all over the place.

Same here. A top 3 US outcome will have us thinking real hard. DC almost wishes they don't get in. Excited about going to the UK!

Your dorm, where you eat, there’ll be a bar and hangout areas, social events, some sports teams, etc. You may also have tutorials (individual or two or three of you) working with a professor from the college - mine were all in my college but I did English. Some of the experience will be subject and college dependent so it’s not that college choice is irrelevant but it’s not like choosing between different universities.

I know one too but they are deciding between that and a top3 US option.

This OP is a troll.

Oxford gave out all its acceptances on JANUARY 9th more than a month ago.

Cambridge theirs on JANUARY 24th

Try harder OP, next time.

+2 That is over 3 weeks ago, plenty of time to make an informed decision.

not if you don't know your other options.

What are we even talking about here? Oxford came out early Jan. Cambridge last Jan. RD decisions are yet to come out. So DMV kids are probably waiting to receive those before taking a final call.
