You take yourself too seriously.
|
| There is no best school. Only a best-school-for-your-kid. |
Or you could move to a W school cluster. |
I take 240/year deathly seriously. Will not look below SFS, NCS, STA, GDS. Maybe for the peer group, Episcopal and Potomac. Forget anything else. No Catholics b/c brainwashing. |
| If my kid is particularly sporty and thick and I’m particularly generous Maret and Bullis. |
Hell no. Don’t want to live there and don’t want to deal with the admin plus the peer group isn’t up to snuff |
And send my children to school with the unwashed masses?!? **gasp** |
| They’re wealthy and washed. I’d rather go to DCPS; fewer swastikas |
If you can just sign up to attend a school because you live in-boundary (I don’t care how wealthy the zip code), you’re a part of the unwashed masses. No thanks! I need to have an admissions committee/gatekeepers in place. |

Troll
This thread is about the independent schools. There’s the same trend catching up with them as with the colleges, which Selingo identifies as skip over schools. At these fees, if you can’t get the best, you don’t pay for the 2nd best, you go public and supplement with the top private services available from tutors to sports to admissions. |
|
I would not pay for, unless my kid has social anxiety or something, for Burke, WIS, etc 2nd tier
I would not pay for the Catholics despite the discount because of the trauma a lot of them carry and the brainwashing |
| I would pay for a substantially discounted solid school. The only one I know is the British one |
|
Yup, waaay too seriously.
|
| Sure: WIS admission office is on, that time of year y’all |
| Brace yourselves for the definitions of bilingual (hint, it can only be acquired at WIS) |
