I literally just bought the same earrings from quince for $59. |
But will they lose their luster? Will the gold rub off and look discolored? |
And if they do you can buy 15 more pairs of quince earrings for less than the cost of the one pair from Tiffany. |
What a rip off. Go to a department store and buy what's on sale. |
Solid gold is solid gold, dummy. |
DP but these have been every day earrings for over a year. |
+1. I love mine and almost never take them off bc I can sleep in them. I think I've not worn them maybe 10 days in 2 years and they still look great. |
+1 While classic and timeless, you are not looking for perfect diamonds here OP. I have 14k gold ball studs from Woodies(!) that still look perfect |
Just a PSA to anyone who actually is looking for "perfect diamonds" ... you'll want to go with Blue Nile or James Allen over Tiffany there as well. |
| Look at Indian fine jewelry store online. I usually get 22-24K gold from there. |
There are other concerns besides the gold. I would be more concerned about the stick part of the stud getting bent from wear, or even falling off. Also, there is variation in quality of the butterfly piece of the stud. Some brands make this part quite thin and bendable, and eventually it does not lie flat against the earlobe. I used to resell jewelry, there is a big difference between the cheap stuff and designer stuff. Mejuri is junk for example. And yes, the markup on Tiffany is insane. I try to find handmade pieces from local jewelers. |

My mom used to buy from Ross Simon’s when I was young:
