I would be more concerned about the stick part of the stud getting bent from wear, or even falling off. Also, there is variation in quality of the butterfly piece of the stud. Some brands make this part quite thin and bendable, and eventually it does not lie flat against the earlobe. I used to resell jewelry, there is a big difference between the cheap stuff and designer stuff. Mejuri is junk for example. And yes, the markup on Tiffany is insane. I try to find handmade pieces from local jewelers. [/quote]
