This is so funny to me. These were my lifting shoes 13 years ago and I think I donated them a few years ago looking nearly new. |
| Last month? Try last year. |
Lol, I bought mine when I wanted Sambas and they were sold out everywhere. Not you can get Sambas but not Onitsuka Tigers. |
I don't have those problems, since I'm fond of Britpop and a soccer girl vibe. And last thing I think a 50 year should do is look for a "high brow sneaker". |
What is a high brow sneaker anyway? Designer sneakers are a scam, they can't be resoled... |
Who the heck is re-soling sneakers anyway? |
They are much more expensive there. |
I swear those Tigers are identical to the shoes we wore for cheerleading in the 80s. |
| Which color Sambas seem to be most popular, or does anything go right now? Trying to pick a new pair of sneakers for a March Europe trip and appreciate the advice! |
I'm a woman that wore them to play indoor soccer in the 1980s . They used to be the only indoor soccer shoe.
I am in my 50s and I got a few of the ones that are just now popular---pink suede several years ago. I always seem to be way ahead of the trend. I had gray New Balance before they became a men's staple. In fact, 5 years ago I gave my barely worn pair to my 8th grader at the time when his foot was the same size. Fashion sneakers are fine for us old women. A lot of Europeans have always been wearing them...and I see them on a lot of older celebs now...which means I am now moving on from them... |
Nobody, that's the point. They are basically disposable shoes so why should you splurge so much on them. But that's if you actually walk. Maybe it's fine if you drive more. |
Haha I remember the 90s cheerleading shoes--Kaepas, with the triangles in your school colors. |
| I'm a mid-50s mom and have worn Sambas for years - waaaay before they became trendy. They're just so completely comfortable. I'll continue to wear them as long as I like. They're my go-to sneak. |
The Tigers were discontinued in the IS as of November. |
