Are you at a NoVa public HS? Our school SCOIR also shows that to be right around the cutoff. Hoping very high standardized test scores and 5s on all AP exams help.

UW GPA?

That's how we're going into this. This year has been pretty random - we've seen separate kids with acceptance/deferrals flipped from corresponding schools, so whatever....

Yeah but when one is in-state tuition and one isn’t, it matters.

I'm out of state everywhere except UDC. more cost and no in-state consideration.

If you don't take the classes they tell you to, I agree. There was a thread a few weeks ago where someone was mad their kid didn't get in and said "well, he didn't take AP English, but..."

Look at the foreign language threads where people say they know you're supposed to take it, but they decide they don't have to because they know someone who got in despite not taking it.

So strange for the counselor to say this. My ds got in a few years ago with a 4.07 WGPA. FCPS high school. Not an URM.

Ton of deferrals last year. So many so, I think more rejections will be likely in EA this year. From HS class '23 who was deferred from EA and then waitlisted. Good times.

What was your daughter's ACT/SAT score, and does the counselor know it?

They actually said that??

Keep your head up. DD got in ED with a 4.12 weighted this year. Don’t let anyone tell you it can’t be done.

5s? Why would you not apply a little higher?
