wrong-way driving on M street (parents rushing to school drop-off)

These parents that think it's okay to drive the wrong way just because they are in a hurry to do school drop off - it's ridiculous. Today 7 cars drove nearly the length of an entire block, trying to cut around cars, and there were 2 near crashes. With children in the car! This is a major safety issue and it's not difficult to solve--- We need to install flexible/removable barriers.

I saw a cyclist on M st. I think it was his fault. The parents were just driving along as usual and out of the blue, a wild cyclist appeared, sending them into a hysterical frenzy to escape, they pulled u turns and drove quickly away!

What school is this?

It’s parents coming from Virginia to drop their kids off at the private Catholic schools - visitation, Saint Ann’s, plus work is trying to get to their jobs at Georgetown University & the hospital

Ah, rich people.

All day long I see people commit flagrant traffic violations right in front of MPD. The police do not care. The other day I ran a red light with a cop parked right there, just to see what would happen. Spoiler: nothing. No reaction.

The police in this city are a joke.

Holy Trinity parents too. They are some of the worst offenders - will basically sit and block traffic on one-way side streets waiting for pickup. Nearly got in a fight with some lady in a Chevy Suburban who decided to stop and block a street for over 10 minutes while her fat ass waited for her spawn. There were 15 cars behind her, trapped on a one way street.

The police aren’t going to do anything. People drive the wrong way down one way streets all the time in my neighborhood. The other day I watched one drive the wrong way past a parked cop car. The cop didn’t say or do a thing. I’ve also seen cops not arrest drunk drivers in a car accident so what should I expect I guess.

Your personal responsibility isn't all that much either, it seems.

This is why you see men in fancy business suits jumping the metro fare gates. When something isn’t against the law (or you don’t enforce the law) society falls apart.

I took the metro for the first time in a long time today, and wondered why I should pay the fare.

That is between you and your conscience.

Do you also wonder why you shouldn't murder people? If you could murder someone and get away with it, would you do that?

Go to the 2nd district police station on Idaho Ave and speak to the duty officer at the desk. Ask if they can have an officer at that intersection or on 33rd St to ticket drivers. Also call 311 and ask the same.

DC doesn’t even enforce its traffic laws for its residents. The District is fully incapable of doing so for VA drivers.

Raise your hand if you think this actually happened.
