Renay Johnson retiring from Blair

What a huge loss of a wonderful leader. There’s almost nobody in the county who can fill her shoes.

And public schools in general. It's sucks to be in the culture wars' crosshairs.

Many of the ones who are retiring were principals for longer than six years, including Johnson.

With Johnson retiring, the two longest-serving HS principals will be Beth Thomas at QO and Cary Dimmick at Gaithersburg, who were both appointed in 2018.

Forgot one: Dodd also started at Whitman in 2018.

What about Alicia Deeny at Richard Montgomery?

She came from TPMS late in the pandemic.

So you think there's no chance they will tap her for the super job? She's probably the most qualified and respected person I can think of in the district.

She could be tapped to be an acting director or an acting principal if they have trouble filling all the vacancies in time. But maybe she actually wants to retire!

Seriously, after dealing with the parents. Geez. Let her retire.

Hold onto your hats folks because more announcements are coming.

And McKnight will get to fill all of them, unfortunately. Doesn’t matter her whole new process or action plan, still boils down to her having the final day of the 2 candidates presented to her by acting directors and assoc supers. Huge conflict of interest

Or could it be that McK is on way out so they will allow the next Super to fill all positions? Probably won't happen that quickly though.

Ms Deeny (formerly of TPMS) would be a good choice.

Parent of Blair alumni student and current Senior student—she truly shows a love for Blair. Will be missed

The board can prevent that.

Will they have enough QUALIFIED administrators to fill all the vacancies? There were 19 vacancies in December. There will be at least 7 more.
