Covid booster reactions

+1 to Novavax. Slightly sore arm for a few hours, but that’s it. Walked into CVS, no appointment needed.

I finally got the new one for this season. No symptoms except my arm hurt for three days and that never happened for any vaccinations.

I’m never doing another booster agian.

I had no reaction to the last booster (November) other than a sore arm.

i had zero reaction to most recent booster (pfizer) but had big initial bad reaction to my first 3 moderna (e.g. shingles, fainting, fevers, etc). i'd do pfizer if you don't want side effects (but moderna is higher dose and probably more effective)

Me too, with Moderna. My previous Moderna covid shots had left me really sore with high fever, chills, and headache and body aches in bed for 24+ hours. I took off a day of work after my shot but didn't end up needed to use the sick day

Fever and chills with Moderna booster last year. Had Pfizer last week and felt nothing but my sore arm.

Fewer side effects?

Yup. I was one of those people who is knocked out for days after Moderna and Pfizer.

With Novavax, only a sore arm and some fatigue.

+4 of us - Novavax was great, and pleasant surprise after having bad side effects from Moderna. Costco has it. You don’t have to be a member, and the service there is great (if you can stomach the parking lot!)

Novavax has no mRNA, protein based vaccine like the others we take

I don't get the boosters anymore because ever since I got the OG Covid in Feb 2020 (we lived in eastern Europe; it was first wave) I've had horrible reactions to all the vaccines unfortunately. And every time I got the vax, I still got very ill from Covid anyway. I do get other vaccines, but no more Covid unless there is another huge, deadly surge again.

For what it’s worth, it’s not a booster - it’s a full shot like the first one we got. But I didn’t have a reaction except a very sore arm.

4 of us had the latest shot. Nobody had more than a sore arm. My teen was convinced he’d feel miserable but it didn’t happen.

Both my kids had boosters and were sick (vomitting) with fever for 3-4 days. I just felt a bit crappy.

I had the Moderna booster and I was unable to function for 2 solid days with flu like symptoms. Decided to not get another booster because I've yet to actually catch covid.

Do they recommend yearly flu shots for otherwise healthy children?

I’ve had strong reactions to all four of my shots—J&J, Moderna, Pfizer, and Novavax. The MRNA vaccines caused me fever and achiness for 3+ days. I was hopeful that the Novavax would be better, but I had post-vax symptoms for a week and ended up taking an eight-day course of glucosteroids to get over it. I am likely an edge case, having had such consistent strong post-vax reactions.
