Op - I mean I guess I can but I have only worked 2 days this week. I have work I have to turn around and some meetings. My dh has meetings all day and has work deliverables as well. So he has 0 ability to do anything. So it’s all on me. |

"Get in trouble"? Like with the police?
Are you also the one who asked if the snow will have melted by 1:30 in the elem. age forum? |
Op - no why does it matter if the snow melts by 1:30? |
| Maybe spend less time posting here and more time getting your work done? |
| I’m so sorry OP. I think that is too young. Can you put off some work until later in the evening and take them? If not, have the oldest pull the youngest around on the sled in your yard if you have one. |
| You’ve only worked two days this week? Why isn’t your husband stepping up? Or does he make most of the money? |
Op - correct. He makes 75% of our income. |
Op - ha thank good idea. I am multitasking. |
| I would let them all go. |
| I'm more cautious about sledding than other activities. A lot can go wrong. At a minimum I like to go with them first to scope out where they'll be, who is there, etc. versus letting them head out on their own. |
| There’s no way I would send the 4 year old half a mile away to sled with just a 9 year old for supervision. Even trustworthy, smart kids do incredibly stupid things sometimes. How fast could you actually get there if something happened? |
|
Your 9 year old cannot babysit your 4 year old. Or your 7 year old, but I would be more lenient about that.
Is daycare closed? Take a hour plus lunch to take your kids sledding from 11-12:30 (or 1…it’s a Friday). Have your husband take a call off-camera while he heats up a couple cans of soup for lunch. Make the three of them watch a movie or do a craft or whatever they do. Then finish your work after your kids go to bed at 8 (because they will be tired from the cold and sledding). Or put a note on your neighborhood forum and find a high schooler to take all three kids sledding until the snow melts. Pay more than market so you know you get someone. |
This. I don’t send my 8-yr old alone .5 miles to our sledding hill. I saw a kid get hit by a car sledding a few yrs ago and others do really stupid stuff. |
| I would let the 9 year old go! But not be responsible for her siblings! take them all on your lunch break |
| OP- no to sending the 9yo to be responsible for the 7yo and 4yo doing an activity that could result in injury. FFS |
