How many countries has your teen been to?

😂 😂 😂

And after they score 1550 on their very first SAT try, please be sure to ask if they should do a prep and take it again.

Those were all individual trips. We used to travel at least yearly from ages 4 to 17 (minus the Covid years); travel is my husband's favorite thing to do. We flew a LOT of lost-cost international airlines (some that are no longer in existence) and took many flights from JFK because it's generally much cheaper than leaving from the DC airports.

Kids do attend a Big3 (lol) but we get some aid.

Thanks for clarifying that your kids do in fact attend a Big 3. Moving forward, if posters would also indicate whether they themselves attended an Ivy, what their household income / net worth is, and how well endowed the husband in the family is it would be extremely helpful.

Thank you.

Also, please respond with whether your child read the Harry Potter series in Kindergarten.

DS is 12. We have taken "standalone trips" to Denmark and Canada. We have also been on a bunch of cruises so he has been to a ton of countries in the Caribbean for a few hours each (also Norway and Germany on a cruise out of Copenhagen) but not sure those count for the purposes of this thread.

HHI is 120k, we went off season to theses places. I’m not even sure he knows we even left the US though.

There's this book, "Airplane Mode" y'all should read. It's about the elitism of travel for pleasure.

Often when we travel I note we are the only people of color.

My kids have traveled a little bit (I guess 8-10 countries?) but it's only because our large families are scattered and they are too poor to ever visit us.

And sitting in a resort doesn't mean you know anything about the place.
