more traditional schools -- not "woke" but not "fratty"?

To be clearer, I’m asking for liberal arts colleges or smaller universities that have some notable ideological and economic diversity.

You are looking for a unicorn, slacs tend not to have either.

Because it's beyond tiresome to be surrounded by snowflakes who are constantly in your face, preaching about this or that, and taking offense at absurdities? Just a thought.

The issue isn’t exposure to leftist ideas at all! The issue is exposure to ONLY leftist ideas and the suppression of other ideas. I want my kid exposed to all kinds of ideas in an environment where they are freely debated. Is that too much to ask?

Hi OP,
You may want to try the NYTimes college ranking tool:
https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2023/opinion/build-your-own-college-rankings.html (not free)
That will let you weigh what matters to you.
For a sophmore/rising junior, it can be more useful to just expose them to different types of schools: big vs. small, public vs. private, urban vs. suburban vs. rural rather than specific schools.
But in terms of your criteria, have a look at some of the jesuit colleges around the country.

Agree about W& M. That’s the school that first came to mind.

Maybe Davidson too, depending on stats.

Any midwestern flagship should do. Michigan and Wisconsin are the two bet.

Op can cross-reference with FIRE’s free speech rankings for colleges. https://rankings.thefire.org/rank

Pretty sure Bucknell would be
considered “fratty.”
