Always Bowser’s delivery guy and bag man? |
| It’s a lot to swallow. |
Why is anyone surprised? She is a direct successor to the Barry machine:
Her election was a return to the same policies, same attitudes, and even the same people who were part of the disastrous Barry administration. |
| Mayor for Life Muriel Barry Bowser |
| The federal investigation into Falcicchio and his office is like an expanding balloon slowly filling up with excrement. And when the balloon bursts open, it’s going to splatter everyone who was involved in the D.C. government real estate transactions, the zoning map amendments, the profitable planning “opportunities” that Johnny Business touched. |
From the article:
I'm sorry, but it's one government and MOLC is damn close to the top of it - when someone comes to the Mayor's Office of [insert whatever topic] with incredibly serious and credible allegations and the response is to advise them to go to a specific agency or two rather instead of REFERRING THE COMPLAINT DIRECTLY to those agencies, then you need to resign. You're not fit for the job, Vanessa Natale, and the DC Bar should really reconsider your membership. |
| Wow, this is really disgusting. In so many ways. |
This. I have been a federal agency attorney for over 20 years and this is absolutely pathetic. Completely embarrassing. |
| What exactly does the MOLC do anyway? I have been around for quite awhile and have never heard of the office. |
Mayor's Office of Legal Counsel. My understanding is that all GCs in the Executive Branch (not OAG) are responsible not just to their agency head and to MOLC. |
But the Mayor already has a very capable GC, who seems to be on top of things. Doesn't seem like the MOLC is serving much use. Especially given what was reported in this article, seems like the Mayor is picking from the bottom of the barrel for MOLC staffing. |
The Mayors GC and the MOLC are totally separate. All you have to do is go to the MOLC website to see what they do. One only deals with the Mayors employees-GC—the other deals with agencies and the public which is MOLC. MOLC was created after DC started electing the Attorney General. Before the mayor appointed the AG, so the oversight of hiring attorneys was pulled from the AG and given to MOLC. They also oversee sexual harassment, FOIA and some other stuff. |
This is a sure sign that this post is not written by a DC resident, or anyone in the area. DC's property tax rates are significantly lower - by about half - than surrounding jurisdictions, and are among the lowest in the country. Even Loudoun County, where most of the hard core MAGAs in the area live, pay 0.875% to DC's 0.55%. That's just under 60% higher than DC's tax rate. Go back to your hole and stay there, PP. |
Well, they clearly aren't handling this very well given the article posted here and that BEGA spanked them for their large backlog of overdue FOIA appeal responses. Such a mess. |
| How utterly embarrassing. |
