I’m having a do-nothing day

Anonymous
I got out of bed at noon (was awake earlier). Made a list of things to do but have done none of it. Have a dinner party to go to this evening. Not a bad day!

Not me. We’re having 15 people over for Christmas Eve dinner tomorrow so I am talking really fast and ordering people around to get it all done!

On Monday, we rest!

Everyday is do nothing for me and I so love it.
I used to wish hard for times like this. It's now a dream come true.

Is there something stopping you from starting a new hobby? Volunteering?

Please come back and tell us everything about the doggo!!

Will do. He's due here any minute. I hear he's a big PITA. We'll see!

Reporting back!

He's a 5.5lb chihuahua. He's here for the holidays while his regular foster mom is traveling. I have a room set aside for him with pee pads all over the floor, a sheet on the couch, and a dog bed and some water. He's in here now in his crate, curled up sleeping and I'm hanging out in here with him. He's peed on the door to this room twice now, lol. I can't take him outside because he won't let anyone put a leash on him and I don't have a fenced in back yard. We'll figure it out. The person from the rescue who dropped him off told me he's having diarrhea (just my luck) so I put out a dinner of rice and turkey instead of dog food. He's ignoring it.

OMG, I'm hanging out with him, and ... right now ... he definitely has gas. Lol.

But all in all he's settling in really well. Appears pretty relaxed. Very, very cute. Very big ears.

Can’t u do the leash like they do when rescuing strays… where they kind of hold it in a loop, offer a treat, then dog walks into it?
Might not be worth the aggravation for a few days but just a thought.

Foster dog PP: Thank you for what you're doing. Sending solid poop outside vibes. Merry Christmas to you!

Good thought. I don't have any of those leashes but I'm sure I could get one quickly.

I have so many do-nothing days like that. If it does get boring, I can go to work the next day or even by night.

My daughter has been sick and miserable all day, but I got a laugh out of her when I read her your post!
I've fostered pregnant dogs, helped them give birth and cared for their puppies. Solidarity, PP. Diarrhea is not what you want over Christmas... but at least it's Chihuahua diarrhea!

Best of luck with the leash thing. If you had more time, you could have habituated him to a fuzzy coat, then a comfy harness to which you could attach a leash. Maybe he's just against neck restraints.

Good on you OP……

Parents w/small children on here must all surely envy you today of ALL days!

But enjoy your day anyway❣️

Good luck with the chihuahua! Sounds fun despite the pee/poo/gas. Snuggle him and enjoy, PP!

I'm hanging out at work today basically doing nothing - browsing DCUM, occasionally tidying/organizing stuff at leisure. Weird I know but I love having the entire office to myself for a few hours out of the house.

Chihuahua foster here! Solid poop this morning, which is great. Yay for small Christmas miracles.

Merriest of Christmases to you and the properly-pooping pup!
