We've done french toast casseroles or the NYT buttery breakfast casserole, assembled the day before and baked fresh the morning of. Not too hard, and delicious.
Less hard and equally delicious: fresh bagels, cream cheese, lox, etc., delivered Christmas morning. |
If they are delivered Xmas morning, they were likely baked the day or two before. |
So the UberEats guy warmed them up last year while he drove? Interesting. (Also, who cares? Why do you need to piss on what makes someone else happy?) |

Catering to different tastes so we will have:
Chocolate crepes using this mix: https://www.surlatable.com/sur-la-table-chocolate-crepe-mix/PRO-6875512.html (Vegetarian) sausage and gravy with fried eggs Eggnog French toast |
|
Chicken and waffles:
Chick-fil-A chicken picked up the day before and reheated. Make your own waffle with toppings bar. |
Womp. CFA closed on Dec 24, its a Sunday afterall. |
| Egg, bread, sausage and cheese casserole made the night before and put it in the oven while we are unwrapping presents. |
| Pecan sticky buns. I make them from crescent roll dough, butter, brown sugar and pecans. Easy. |
| French toast casserole, scrambled eggs, sausage, yogurt granola, fruit |
| I’ve never made it before, but I’m going to try the Smitten Kitchen gingerbread waffles this year (I & my kid both love gingerbread). If it doesn’t work, I’ll whip up some pancakes. And bacon. |
| For maximum ease and fun, we like sheet pan pancakes. Can do bacon in the oven with the pancakes and scramble some eggs. |

This French Toast casserole, berries and bacon.
https://www.thepioneerwoman.com/food-cooking/recipes/a8921/cinnamon-baked-french-toast/ I assemble it the night before, so then it just goes in the oven. The first year I had the idea to do this I tried a different recipe that was so disgustingly sweet we had to throw it out. A friend recommended this one to me and the whole family loved it. |

An egg sausage has brown casserole has been my go to. I make the night before but don’t bake. It does take over an hour in the oven though so pop it in well before you want to eat!
I saw the croissant bake recipes this year and may try those. I also saw a bacon and caramelized onion quiche recipe I’m dying to try. My 3 year old will probably just eat goldfish. 😂 |
| Baked oatmeal or a French toast casserole. I make it up the evening before then bake while we are opening presents. I cook bacon and sausage in the oven to go with it. Always a hit. Fresh fruit on the side and good coffee and everyone is happy. |
No one’s pissing on anything. If you’re going to make two entities work on Christmas Day, you should know that your food probably isn’t being prepared freshly that day (at least not bagels unless it’s actually Jewish owned and operated). They probably did reheat them. Which means that you could have bought them a week in advance and frozen them for a few days with the same result for a third of the price. |
