Realtor Fired for Suggesting Affordable Housing Go To "Deserving Blacks"

His language was terrible but the philosphy of what he is trying to say gets lost in that bad vocabulary. This was a hearing on upzoning.

Some other speaker lady said something like the entire city council deserved to be spanked and punished. Not sure why that isn't getting as much press.

FWIW I have worked with ARHA for decades and the demographics of who is in section 8 in Alexandria is quite diverse, it is not overwhelmingly AA.

He's not wrong and what he said wasn't derogatory or inflammatory in anyway. I wonder if he sues McEnearney. I think they acted way too quickly out of fear.

It is a pity what America is becoming.

Haha. Knowing this forum, I’m not even surprised that this thread isn’t deleted yet. The admin here think most black people are all struggling when that’s just another false talking point. I’m black and this is so tasteless that this is even a thing. They think so lowly of us, it’s ridiculous.

Something like 30 calls for gunshots in the last 18 months. That is who he is talking about and everyone in this city knows this. Had he said "deserving whites" we wouldn't even be talking.

Who are you to decide who is worthy?

What in the hell are you talking about? The admin lives in Crestwood. Not only are black folks not struggling in Crestwood, but it is one of the most beautiful parts of the city. I'm sure it's majority black and VERY expensive. I am black and I can't figure out your point. I can't understand what the guy was talking about. "deserving blacks" - Does that mean that only middle class black people are deserving or does it mean that black people need help?

I'm sure someone is pouring through his history hoping that residents he placed in affordable units aren't all black. Likewise, any of his white clients who applied for affordable units and know about this story are probably on the phone with housing lawyers

ARHA doesn’t work with realtors, but nice attempt at stirring the pot.

Then he should have said:

"Negligent or violent people really shouldn't have priority access to affordable housing. Responsible people, of any skin color, are the ones who should have that priority."

These days, well-meaning people are punished for wording their opinions poorly, and they don't get a chance to correct what they said. I think that unless someone has a history of making dubious comments, we should give people the benefit of the doubt.

The spanking lady might be onto something. City Council wouldn’t need to keep raising taxes is they could monetize a private paddling. I can’t be the only one who would pay to see them lined up on OnlyFans.com.

A taxpayer perhaps?

Alexandria City is so comically racist against white people that everyone is waiting to file a civil rights suit anytime someone says something at a hearing or the council tries to pass a law

The concern trolling in the OP is cringe.
