He's not wrong and what he said wasn't derogatory or inflammatory in anyway. I wonder if he sues McEnearney. I think they acted way too quickly out of fear.

It is a pity what America is becoming.

Ok, OP.

Anyone with half a brain can see what’s wrong with the statement.

Virginia is a right to work state with at-will employment. They can fire him for picking his nose if they want to.

I wouldn’t want to be associated with someone who spoke in that manner, either. And I find it odd and trollish that you are defending it.

What is wrong with the message? Really? There are huge numbers in Alexandria of blacks in AH that shouldn't be there. Working age males routinely involved in violent gun battles. Something like 30 calls for gunshots in the last 18 months. That is who he is talking about and everyone in this city knows this. Had he said "deserving whites" we wouldn't even be talking.

I'm sure they are more worried about lawsuits they may have exposed them to than his continued employment. The story said that he had a focus on rentals. I'm sure someone is pouring through his history hoping that residents he placed in affordable units aren't all black. Likewise, any of his white clients who applied for affordable units and know about this story are probably on the phone with housing lawyers

Given the history of racism among realtors, including steering different people to different housing and neighborhoods based on race, real estate agents shouldn't be saying anything about what groups of people should or shouldn't live somewhere.

City of Alexandria is racist!

He is right. In NYC there was a great think in 1970s-1980s where NYC took largely African American occupied run down apartments in sketchy areas owned by slumlords and turned them into HDFC coops. Usually slumlords moles after many years of back taxes, water bills and fines literally abandoned building.

The original owners could sell after a long period but new buyers had to meet very low income requirements. Most banks won’t provide mortgages at all so cash only.

Quick look today shows me units max income 36k on units that cost 450k.

Who buys them? Rich white or Asian college new graduates were mommy and daddy front cash. How is a person earning 35k in Manhattan spending 450k cash?

He is 100% right. That's the irony. He's being castigated by the left for actually looking out for the people they claim to advocate for.

It's ridiculous.

If he’s like 99% of realtors, he wasn’t even an employee but instead an independent contractor. Brokers don’t have to affiliate with anybody that they don’t want to.

The realtors code of ethics is clear that “realtors shall not print, display or circulate any statement or advertisement with respect to selling or renting of a property that indicates any preference, limitations or discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, disability, familial status, national origin, sexual orientation, or gender identity.”

The end.

He is from the prominent Burke & Herbert family. Surprised that he would be that caring.

What the hell does that mean? You want to compare your philanthropy record against theirs?
