In Person Exercise Class That Doesn't Require a Gym Membership?

ClassPass is a good idea

I like Grace in Silver Spring. It is mostly yoga but they have some strength and Pilates classes and clientele includes people 50+ .

We must have missed the OneLife deal because we pay $80/mo for one person.

I like it because I can go to which ever gym has a class that fits my schedule, which changes a lot. Also I get bored doing the same thing all the time. Tokens roll over at the end of the month.

OP here - never heard of this, thanks! Sounds like a good option.

I haven’t tried OneLife, but I tried another gym by my house and it was more than $40.

I guess another option is to look for a different gym. Will look into OneLife because your comment makes sense.

Probably that I’m in a less fancy part of the city with basic level. Still it would be $10 per class which is cheaper than Orange Theory, etc. I think.

I just joined OneLife after spending a fortune on yoga and Pilates classes over the years. I take two classes a week and started weight training on my own. It’s fantastic. I pay $59/month for the premiere membership so I can choose between several near my work or home. The cost for just one club was $49/month.

What classes do you like? I am maybe joining. It’s $49 for premier. Northern Virginia.

I like the Mind/Body classes - Yoga, Pilates, Barre, Flex, BodyBalance. I haven’t tried the Bootcamp, BodyPump, Step, Zumba, etc. but those aren’t really my speed. And I hate spin classes. Any class that involves a coach yelling over loud music makes me mad. Lots of people love those classes though and find that energy motivating. I really enjoy the more mindful yet challenging classes.

I have found that the quality varies from place to place. I love classes at my primary gym (North Bethesda) but not at another one I tried in DC. So you may want to research more before joining since the classes are a priority for you. Good luck.

+1 for ClassPass. I use it to take a variety of classes locally and also when I travel.
